Oh so good! I have a had a lot of fried chicken in my days but this takes the crown. Not overly oily, light crispy texture, juicy flavorful chicken and well paired bubbles. We subbed the potatoes for the Spanish Potatoes… I wouldn’t say they were what I assumed but they were delightful all the same. The service was stellar and the atmosphere was joyous and peppy. I highly recommend!
This was my first time dining here in many many years! The experience went well. The chicken was sooo delicious! The greens were amazing too! The only thing I had a problem with is, a side of Mac n cheese was $10 dollars and the container was only 1/2 way filled. Definitely a ripoff and if I would’ve noticed it before I left with my to go, I would’ve asked them to put more in the container or asked for a refund. Other than that, everything was pretty good!
A place we came across on a whim. Friendly staff, wonderful atmosphere. Food, delicious. We had the warm Brussel sprouts and Fried Deviled Eggs. Fancy drinks. We had the Froze. We came during brunch and I'm thinking it wasn't a "Peak Time". Place is on the smaller side & I'm sure it gets crowded. Definitely will come again for brunch! Check them out!
Hubby and I stopped for brunch today and we were very satisfied. I made reservations but didn't need to. Although it's a small establishment, it wasn't packed at all. We started off with the Orbit Frozé and deviled eggs with bacon extra cost. The drinks were sooooo good, tasted like candy. All the food was hot, fresh and delicious. I chose the French toast and wings and had the option of 2 or 4 pieces of french toast. Let me tell you, I wish I chose 4 because it was amazing, omg! I was pleasantly surprised with the grits, the tiny pieces of jalapeños gave it a nice flavor. No complaints at all! We will definitely be back because there were a lot of items we wanted to try!
Food was great. Came in after church service with the fam. Believe I was that hungry, but doesn't take away from the idea that the food was great. I ordered two different main plates, yes I hungry. Granted they both had similar items on the plate like the Waffles and the French Toast, same category in my opinion but first time here, wanted to try it out and was not disappointed. Would recommend this spot and come back. Environment was small, but always packed, let's you know that the demand is there. Free parking upfront and outside seating as well.
So mixed feelings exist here. Nice small cozy restaurant. Great lighting for a wine bar. The waitress staff and service was amazing. The mixed feelings is on the food. Ordered a couple appetizers to start off for the table. Ordered wings and crispy devil eggs. The wings tricked everyone at the table. The sauce and flavor was amazing. And it didn't seem to be crispy it seemed soft and moist. But when all finished we were able to see and noticed that the chicken was not cooked our bones on the plate were super bloody. Meaning we all ate uncooked chicken. It was upsetting because of the lighting we didn't notice initially. Spoke to the waiter about it and they handled it well. Tried the devil eggs and that was a complete disaster. No flavor and devil eggs that were super chewy and not satisfying at all. It would have tasted better if they chopped two boiled eggs in half and just served it. Then I order cracklin chicken. That dish was cooked perfect in every way. The risotto was amazing the ajus was good. Everything about that dish was amazing. My guest didn't like the chicken and waffles. Found it very salty chicken. I ordered some fried oreos. They were great. Loved it. So yea mixed feelings in my experience.
Decided to try this place while visiting Houston recently. I was not disappointed at all. Service: 5/5 no issues at all Food: 4/5 I had chicken and waffles and I would definitely come back to get them again Vibe: 5/5 I liked the place even with the good music playing in the background, my friends ands I could still hear each other speak
Max's is one of my favorite brunch spots. I love their fried chicken and greens. The last time I went it was around Mardi Gras so I got the Mardi Gras French Toast and chicken wings. Their Froze' frozen mimosas are the best!
So, I visited this spot with a brunch group I just joined. The food was excellent, great staff. The atmosphere was really nice.
Took my wife here for brunch for the first time and absolutely loved it. I had the wings and waffle which were great and she had the spare rib burrito with potatoes which was awesome. Nice atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating available. The waiter was very attentive and our food was brought out within 10 minutes of ordering and was as fresh as it gets. We didn't try the wine this time but they seem to have a multitude of options and offer wine packages with different price points in mind. Definitely saving this as one of my favorite local spots!
