We had a very enjoyable Sunday breakfast here. The staff was very friendly and attentive even though we came in 55 minutes before closing. The pancakes were definitely the stars of the show. We had blueberry pancakes and apple cinnamon pancakes. I also tried the homemade corned beef hash skillet. It is a little strange that their skillet doesn’t seem to involve a skillet though. The hash browns were a little softer than I prefer.
Dropped in here for breakfast on a Wednesday around 11:30, and there was plenty of seating available. This is a great place for families, offering a kids menu and booths for seating. The silver dollar pancakes were a perfect size for my 1 year old granddaughter, who ate all of them just using her fingers. The blueberry pancakes were delicious with real, nicely sized blueberries mixed throughout. All the pancakes were nicely sized, light and fluffy. Absolutely perfect! I tried the Eggs Benedict Benny and thought the taste was good, but the English muffin was flattened and not crunchy like an English muffin, and the hollandaise sauce didn't have that classic sheen I've come to expect if you are big into Eggs Benedict you'll understand what I mean. Still, the corned beef hash and poached eggs served with it were perfect. This is a casual place with a large menu, great for satisfying any pancake craving you may have.
Maxfield's is definitely a great spot for brunch. Wasnt too crowded even at peak brunch hours. Got seated right away, service was quick, polite, accurate. Got a nice open seating style atmosphere, but not too noisy. And the food is mostly standard diner food, but it is a notch above most other diner quality. And they have excellent crepes which is a rarity. My meat lovers scramble had delicious steak in it so I may go full steak scrambler next time. Will definitely put it on my list to return. Kid-friendliness: got us a high chair quickly
Ohhhhhhh my Goodness! So where on earth do I start? This, Food, Is ,Goooooodddaaa! I’m happy I came here number 1 got seated fast, number 2 waiter polite and took our orders quickly and when I say our food came quick enough for my children and I to have whiplash, well I mean it! Of and number 3 the bathroom was clean clean clean!!! The prices are good also
My father and I came for breakfast around 9:30 am on a Saturday. We were seated right away. The food came out pretty fast and the waitress was very nice. There were many things to choose from on the menu. The food tasted alright. Ordered: •Strawberries & Banana French Toast •The Number 1: Pancakes, Eggs, Bacon, Sausage & Hashbrowns
Our server Stephanie was very friendly and attentive. The pancakes were delicious. My daughter tried a Blitz with cheese and she said it was delicious. Service was quick. I would definitely go back.
Finally out for breakfast. Covid is slowly becoming a thing of the past for me. Enjoyed a peaceful and hardy breakfast. I had the steak omelette that contained all of my favorite ingredients. The entree included choice of sides. I had hash browns and buttermilk pancakes. The omelet tasted regular-not sure If I was expecting something spicy. The dinning area is open and medium size. The decorations and lighting fixtures were attractive-I enjoyed the burnt orange colors-didn’t really make me want to eat, but it was relaxing. The staff was really nice from the hostess, servicer and the man who cleared our table. I would mind eating her alone, with a group or a casual dine. Will be back.
I’ve eaten many times at the Maxfield’s on Brown Deer/Port Washington. Always experienced reliably abundant good food, served quickly. The same is true here at the Mayfair area restaurant. This was our first visit to this location. I had the breakfast combo that included eggs, hash browns, bacon AND sausage, plus two crepes $10.99. I paid extra to have fruit added to the crepes $1.99. This used to come with a small glass of fresh squeezed orange juice but that has disappeared from the menu. Our other order was the country fried steak breakfast which came with potatoes, two eggs, two fried steaks with gravy and two pancakes. You get your choice of what kind of potatoes and what kind of side dish could have had toast instead of the pancakes. The coffee was strong which I like and our cups were refilled as needed. We also had large glasses of ice water and extra napkins. It was a good, filling breakfast served with skill by a very competent waitress. Wait staff personnel were wearing masks. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. I ordered my eggs scrambled. They tasted like hotel buffet eggs; I suspect they were not fresh eggs but the type that come in a big bag or pitcher. I would order over medium or some other way next time. Also, when we arrived the hostess was talking on her phone. She lifted two fingers at us which we signaled was correct, grabbed two menus and directed us to a table all without ending or interrupting her phone call. Not a great first impression. These are the reasons for a 4 instead of 5 star review. The food was good overall and we would definitely go there again in the future.
Overpriced food, no seasonings on the food. cheese eggs they placed square cheese on top same with grits. the kids Mickey mouse pancake was cute. No bill splitting signs everywhere. Since I was visiting Milwaukee our party had the pay with multiple cards. what a hassle.
Place was nice. Felt sorry for our waitress since we met our stepsister who we had not seen in a while. We were catching up on kids and grandkids while every once in a while looking at the menu. For me, the menu was laid out really well and I found what I wanted right away. I am on WW so "The Skinny" is what I ordered. This may not sound like much, but I assure you it is. I will now make your mouth water: The skinny is an omelet made with broccoli, tomatoes, mushrooms, and little bit of fried onion rolled in 2 eggs. Next came baked potato pieces and 2 slices of bacon. Then your choice of toast or pancakes. Of course I choose toast. My sister's choose eggs over med, and easy. Each getting toast but 1 choose sausage and really liked it. I ended up taking 1/2 of mine home there was so much. We really did have a sweet waitress but I don't remember her name. We stayed there longer than we should have. I can tell you the date and where we sat. It was November 29th around 10 or 10:30 and the door was blocked by a wall to go outside because we would get cold whenever someone came in or left. Management might want to think about bring the wall to the ceiling. That was the only flaw!
