Cozy pub in a beautiful county Clare.. the staff was so friendly and food was excellent. Best seafood chowder I’ve had! Prices were more than reasonable and the pub had a great vibe.
With a tour group and we stopped to have lunch. Fish and chips was fabulous. They were expecting us so the food was served fast and piping hot. Be careful if you sit on a small stool, the top of them is slick and I slide off the stool onto the floor, no alcohol was needed. Had an issue getting my mom to the handicap bathroom in the back. Not wheelchair friendly walking thru the pub. That's the only reason I did 4 put of 5 stars.
Loved McGann's pub! Good food, whiskey, and live music. Perfect after seeing Cliffs of Moher at sunset. Get the beef stew, lamb, or fish and chips. All dishes were delicious. Also, get the 12 year John Lane Powers whiskey.
McGanns is a wonderful experience for drinking, eating and socializing in Doolin. The pub is filled with happy people and servers who genuinely care and appreciate your presence. The decor is typical for this type of establishment with many antiques and unique bits of history that bring back memories of times gone by. Be sure to try the catch of the day. On one of our visits they had Atlantic trout, which was absolutely fabulous. The Guinness pints are lovely and the live music is splendid.
I went to this place with a group on our way to the cliffs of Moher. Very busy place. The bar is the busiest. Yet, they serve so fast. In half an hour, they'd Fed all 50+ passengers in our group, while also serving another bus load of people at the same time. Looks small, but spacious inside. Food is good.
Quintessential Irish Pub! The food was amazing and the atmosphere is exactly what you'd picture an Irish pub to be, complete with 3 old drinking pals in the corner enjoying their ale. Service was exceptional and staff was very friendly.
We LOVED our time at this cozy pub after the windy cliffs. Chuckled at the “take a picture of the menu board on your way in” vibe! The staff were wonderful, particularly one who popped by many times to visit with us and tell stories and have a laugh. Nice live Irish music in the background as well. Had the glazed bacon, cabbage and mash and it was my favourite meal i had in Ireland! I would definitely choose this place for a chill night, a warm meal and a pint!
Excellent food, wonderful staff, awesome live music. I'm assuming the person who was the owner came to every table, had a little chat with us, and gave us some postcards when we were leaving. I'd really love to come back one day :
McGann's has the best Fish and Chips in all of Ireland! Really we ate so many on our Ireland stay, all over from County Donegal, Dublin to County Kerry and Cork and Mcgann's wins! Outstanding food, music and the people were fantastic! Don't miss it if you are in Doolin!
Great atmosphere, music. Good food. Could do with some more gluten free options, even without bread or batter. The stew was lovely.
