Well let's start with the outside of the venue. I went for the Winter Jam concert as an example. All 3 desperate gates were used as entrances. One of them was used for people who bought tickets prior, rather than at the door. But you wouldn't know that since there was ZERO staff directing lines, or from preventing people from cutting. Since the lines were so long that they were overlapping each other. Not a soul was out there picking up trash/changing full trash bags in their cans. They'd rather it just pile up at the gate entrance, and have it roll into people coming up the ramp to get inside. Disgusting. A bit unrelated, it's also an ugly, rusted building. Not attractive.
The inside isn't much better either. Hallways around the stage areas are narrow, and a pain in the butt to navigate through. You can tell the arena is old by that fact alone. It's not equipped for the modern American body. (Fat asses) It also gets way too hot with everybody so close together.
Tear it down, and replace it with a more spacious venue. You'll attract larger musical acts, and improve the overall experience for the customer. For now on I'll be avoiding any events held here. It's just not worth the stress.

A great facility for smaller sized major events.
This is the multi purpose large scale community building for most major indoor events in Chattanooga, TN. So in addition to of the UTC sporting events such a basketball. The building also host events such as Monster Jam and Disney on Ice, when those events come through the area.
The building is smaller than buildings used for professional basketball in places like Atlanta and is also smaller than major city "arenas" like one in Baltimore, MD. So the McKenzie Arena, cannot hold a full. "3 Ring Circus", when Ringling Bros visits Chattanooga. It is a scaled down single ring version instead. And it's a similar scale down with some other events, that may have a larger scale production, in other facilities that can accommodate such.
Parking nearby is less than sufficient. If you are not early for major events, you will have a very long walk from a less than stellar secondary parking area. If you can even get a spot there. Bottom line, arrive early.
The concessions stands have some of the typical concessions food. But no burgers and no chicken of any type. The only meat products are small hot dogs and chilli on either the hot dog or nachos. They may have pepperoni pizza, but that's about all the meat that can be found. Probably best to have a good meal in advance.
But since the facility is not very large, most every seat is a decent view of an event. And the prices for the " cheap seats " really are economical. It also means that once inside, the walk to your seat, the restroom or concessions is short.
