Metro Atlanta Gastroenterology

New patient transferring from a practice where the entire experience is always so frustrating. I’ve interacted w/ Dr Weinstein and at least 8 members of the staff and every interaction has been wonderful. I’ve been treated like someone they care about. What a concept. It’s so refreshing and encouraging. Make no mistake I hope I don’t need them much but it’s incredible to know they have my back when I do need them.

If one can enjoy a preventative procedure, working with Dr. Max Shapiro and his professional team was outstanding. The entire team was polite and a caring team with smiles. I recommend them for your gastroenterology needs.

What a wonderful experience. This is the place to get your gi test completed at. From the ease of signing in. Ease of prep rx. Front office staff very friendly. Intake staff jasmine and Christian got me ready to go in no time at all very proficient. Dr Shapiro was outstanding and took time to explain everthing. The anesthesiologist was also amazing but I didn’t get name as she was busy with another patient by the time I was leaving Harjara was also the best. I can say enough on how efficient this whole process was. The only thing I could even question is the facility and parking is kind of confusing to find as it is a large medical center so leave early to Make sure your on time

Third time I have had a colonoscopy done by Dr. David Weinstein since 2010…..with a history of colon cancer in my family I have to be very careful to get the very best gastroenterologist. Dr. Weinstein is exceedingly thorough and proactive in his approach to his patients medical care. I consider myself fortunate to be under his care. I do not take it for granted and anyone fortunate to have him as their doctor is equally as lucky!!

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Dr. Curtis is the worst doctor I have ever seen. I was extremely sick with Ulcerative Colitis, I could barely even stand, dripping sweat and she was not caring at all, very uninterested in what I had to say was going on, and what I was feeling. I stayed in the hospital for a month. She did nothing during that time and discharged me while I was STILL extremely sick, "because they need beds" her judgment was not to fight for her patients but to to kick them out because they are just "taking up space". I came back a couple days later and was in for another 2 weeks and Dr. Curtis did nothing and no treatment was received because "she couldn't justify what was going on" she tried making me seem like I was in just for meds, very insulting and extremely offended. After all this time of waiting around and doing NOTHING, she comes back and says "we will probably have to remove your colon". After a month of nothing happening, this was all followed by a bombardment of surgeons in my room. After that I told her that I no longer wanted her laughable "care". Dr. Curtis has by far the worst bed-side manners imaginable, a mean, cold doctor. She really made a terrible time that much worse. If you still choose to visit Metro Atlanta Gastroenterology, do yourself a favor and DO NOT see Dr. Curtis. I can't speak to the other Dr's abilities and manners but I can about Dr. Curtis, she is evil.

Have been a patient of Dr Carson for 14 years , she has become increasingly rude and shows no empathy and care . Her bedside manner on my last visit has forced my decision to find an alternative gastroenterologist.

Had a great first visit with Dr. Shapiro. He listened and offered some resolution. Also provided me with some good information to read for further care and healing. The office staff was also friendly and helpful through the entire process from appointment set-up to checking in and out! Thank you all for your wonderful service!

Dr. Jennifer Curtis is an excellent doctor as well as surgeon. She is very knowledgeable, caring, excellent personality, and sharp. Her staff is also excellent. I drive over an hour away to see her. It is worth the drive and gas money. I highly recommend anyone with gastrointestinal problems to see her. She is a godsend into my life and the life of my family.

Dr Max Shapiro is awesome. He has a welcoming, kind and comforting personality and his style is collaborative. He is very thorough and extremely knowledgeable. He takes the time to ensure you understand. The staff is personable and friendly. I enjoyed going to this office. They could teach other medical offices how to treat their patients.

I cannot express how great Dr. Shapiro is! He’s exceptional! I wish every doctor had his patience, attention to detail, empathy and candor. I was told once that if you want a “good” doctor, you’ll have to sacrifice heart when seeking a medical provider. Dr. Shapiro has both intelligence and heart. Highly recommend him and his staff!
