Metropolitan Dermatology in Staten Island is one of the best offices I've been to so far. The staff is courteous, inviting and professional. I had a great time and felt extremely comfortable with everyone there. Brittni Kalyuzhny, NP was attentive to my needs and never underestimated my concerns. I hope to continue to be a patient there and am looking forward towards my next visit. Location is at 1324 VICTORY BLVD.
For me to leave a review it must actually be a big deal, because i give Everyone the benefit of the doubt, but receptionist on the phone was nasty, rude, and sounded annoyed/bothered by me even calling trying to make an appointment. Now i have Been to this office before and the doctors were great. But service is everything. And if people don’t feel warm/welcomed at a doctors office why should they even trust them?
Horrible place. Everyone is rude and nasty. After seeing the doctor 1-2x Matt the reception never schedules you back for another 2-6 months later. If you already have an appt, and reschedule due to unforeseen events- the reception will tell you there’s nothing available for another 2-3 months. You’re a Guinea pig for medication that doesn’t work. I highly recommend going elsewhere where the doctor and staff care about patients.
Matt is wonderful and really knows his stuff. He always makes me feel that he is looking out for my best interest. I found his assistant to be somewhat short and dismissive when speaking with her.
Stay away from albina if you need anything removed, all she’ll do is convince you to do cosmetic procedures. I’ve been to her twice over the same cyst since April and now she refuses to call me back or get on the phone, the spot she shoved a giant needle into injecting with god knows what is completely infected, had to see another provider for a 14 day supply of antibiotics after dealing with her, run! Don’t walk! This is an update, today I will be going to see a plastic surgeon for a consult to have fatty tumors called lipoma removed caused by trauma due to albina at metropolitans lack of knowledge, using a large needle on my leg without knowing what she was trying to drain, she said it wasn’t a cyst but tried to drain it anyway after issuing a cortisone shot, she could say I was persistent to have a treatments done and yes, I was because it was multiple times I saw her about this, no antibiotics, just copay and gone. Thanks albina, this shouldn’t inconvenience me at all with two young children
I felt brushed off and almost dismissed by albina for the treatment that I in came for. she just got free money from my insurance and my copay. Needless to say I won’t be seeing her again.
Clean office, seating in waiting room well spaced between patients! Taken on time, assistants are very professional , asked proper history, explained how to put on examine gown.Matthew is the best! He made me feel comfortable while examining & explains any issues in simple terms. Great suggestions for today’s living! Appointment set up very quickly! Clean bathroom, enough soap & free samples are always a plus!
Place never returns my calls and I always have trouble getting my prescriptions after I come in for them. They give me prescription after prescription and they never work for longer than a few days. No recurring refills, no other options, just the bare minimum advice and prescriptions I don't even get access to. Absolute disaster of a practice. This office is quite honestly the worst dermatology practice on staten island, and deserves to be shut down for their stupidity.
Been going there since Dr. Shapiro -30 years and never left. The staff is pleasant. Matt is special. So thorough and caring. Not a long wait time unless an emergency occurs which I respect they address. Wouldn’t go anywhere else for my dermatological needs!
Office staff personable and welcoming. Wait was minimal and taken before appointment time. Jeremy Sommer is extremely knowledgeable and made me feel at ease. Such a genuinely nice man which made the visit in addition to the medical advice, worthwhile.
