Michigan Bean Festival

Everything was wonderful except for the carnival rides. The free kids games had very friendly volunteers. The petting zoo was fantastic and the food to feed the animals was at a very reasonable cost. My only complaint is the quality of the carnival. The rides were in very bad shape and very old. The fun house had torn and frayed rope for the rope bridge that was about 12 feet up in the air. A smaller child could have easily fallen through. One of the bounce houses deflated with three young children inside. They said they blew a fuse. All I could think of is what if a fuse would have blown on the giant blow up slide? Nobody was hurt thankfully. And the ferris wheel worked for only a short time while we were there because of maintenance problems. This was a wonderful family event otherwise. I would rather see a quality bounce house company there next year rather than shady carnival. Our children deserve a safer alternative. This was our first year and we will definitely go again.

It was a fun day. The bean soup was good. The parade was good for the small town that it is.
