Middletown Housing Authority

I think the people that work at the Middletown Housing Authority office have an extremely frustrating job. There is so much need for affordable housing and so little such housing to go around. Personally, I felt that unless I knew what question to ask, I would not get more than the minimally required information. The paperwork they give applicants is onerous, and for someone changing residence from a far away state, 6 months is not enough time to get it all done, especially when there is so little active advocacy from the persons this office. I think the front line workers should be more empowered to make autonomous decisions when appropriate, and to be heard by their supervisors & elected officials regarding the obvious lack of resources. Having said that, not even working for the state can 'force' any person to opt out of being kind, helpful and more forthright. The atmosphere in that office is that the persons working there have given up and that, if they ever did care about their mission, they honestly don't anymore.

They are very nice people that work there and. Their helpful. But if you have sction through them it seems that they have some workers that are not helpful when you have landlord violations but just go over there head i would have given a 5 if it wasnt for that fact but other than that its a awesome place to live and raise kids
