This is an older building inside and out with no handicap parking at all. If you can park right in front of the store, the curb isn't that high but if you need any kind of ramp, there's not one anywhere that I saw. Luckily, I'm able to walk short distances so my boyfriend sat my wheelchair up in the sidewalk and I could step up the curb. Now, as far as supplies go, they have quite a bit for a small store. I recently started another business an in home bakery and found this place when I needed a few things asap and there are very few bakery supply stores around here. They have things like boxes, clam shells, cake decorating tools, some colorants, fillings, and things like that. I took pics of what I was looking for so I could compare prices. If this place carries what you're looking for, I can guarantee it will be cheaper than ordering online. The employees are nice and helpful and whew, I need help in this new venture! It's nice to be able to ask someone in person and have them show you instead of waiting on an email that has been passed around departments for a week. I would love to see them expand with more products though.
I can not rave enough about how amazing this hidden gem is for the novice or experienced cake designer!!!! It's conveniently located near the fairgrounds and the prices for baking and confectionery making supplies is the best I've seen even in comparison to online big-box retailers I frequent! The lady there, I don't recall her name, remembers me when I come in the store and asks about the projects I'd purchased for the visit before adding a personalized touch to the already fast, friendly service that exceeds expectations.
Midway cake store Good luck finding perishable items that aren't expired. I needed a white 5 lb tub of fondant...they were all expired on her shelf. I asked about it and she said "its still good tho...its just literally "best by.." the date...then said "if you don't want it.l, someone else will buy it...& has plenty of customers that dont care" in a snooty way. Well, I want to use fresh, non expired fondant. Is that too much to ask from a 'specialty' cake decorating store? Even if I decided to chance it and use it on my current cake order, but not use all of it, Id have some left over that just becomes more old, and less pliable and who knows if someone could get sick if used even later, if even useable at all. Waste of money. Also, If you wanna sell an outdated product, put it on clearance for those who may want or need that and who"dont care". Don't make them pay full price. Don't slap your customers in the face that way, they are spending good money there...show some hospitality. Oh, she was willing to sell me a 20 lb tub from the back tho. Nope. Stick with Amazon, Walmart...anywhere but here.
They had everything I could ever want and at reasonable prices. I didn't find the store unorganized or cluttered as others have posted, but it is a lot of stuff in a small space so be prepared to take some time if you want to look at everything.
Love this place! Very helpful, friendly and extreamly knowledgeable. They always have what I'm looking for. If you don't see it, just ask.
Locally owned and operated! She has most anything a baker could need at reasonable prices. Friendly, quick service
Absolutely the best service here, Highly Recommended..
Really love buying stuff here. They always have food coloring, a nice selection of luster dust and powders, as well as a nice assortment of cutters and basic kitchen utensils. They also have cake dummies in the back. Their prices are competitive and they're always very helpful. Their equipment is usually always cheaper than the Chef Store and nice quality.
Good selection. Always have what you need. Here is where my wife's buys most of the supplies that she need for her cakes, from cardboard boxes to whipping cream.
Never been before and it was great! Yeah the building looks a little worse for wear, but they have such an outstanding selection of things to choose from. As a beginner cookie decorator, they were great at answering my questions. Will d finitely be going back!!
