Pros: prices Cons: Parking Lack of handicap button This establishment has has many come before it with the same offerings. I stopped in here several weeks ago while visiting kc and was disappointed with the food and coffee. The matcha lattes were not made properly which is bad for a coffee shop. The food was OK but not worth a second visit. This is a very typical coffee shop like any other competing for market space in Kansas City. Nothing really sets them apart. Moreover, the woman working the cash register was not inviting or sociable. I have considered that she was having a bad day until I noticed all of the workers performing like qt cashiers. Parking: Limited Wheelchair accessibility: No door buttons
Fast, fresh, and delish. Everything was good. I’d def go back. The branding, menu, and environmental graphics look kinda like a Tad Carpenter joint, and I noticed his shop is right around the corner. I’m a nerd for that stuff. But the food backed up the cool artwork and branding.
I wish there was a way to give 3.5 for food. Anyway, the atmosphere was great. The fire pit in there is really cool. It does get busy and crampy. Service was at par for a place like this. Food was a solid 4/5 but the coffee was more like a 3/5. Both of us ordered 2 different coffees one hot and one cold - both were baristas recommendation and they weren't all that. If you look at my other reviews you will see we go around KC trying coffee shops. I would go here for the food and ambience but I'd recommend coffee from somewhere else.
Love this spot for coffee, breakfast and lunch. Crowded inside? No worries…there’s space outside by the firepit. Food is good and ambiance is great. We hope our reviews are helpful for learning about shopping, eating and playing in the area we live in.Food: 5/5
This was a convenient place to grab some food before a play at Union Station. It's right off the street car line on the first stop from Union station so it's location is fantastic. I visited at noon on a Sunday and it was very very busy. That said, I don't think that this reflects the busyness that would normally be present on a Sunday. The Sunday I visited was the first playoff game for the Kansas City Chiefs. So I expect a sizable number of people who would normally have been there or not. This was my first visit so I have no comparison. We ended up sharing a table with two other ladies and we were the last people to get a seat. Because it is order at the counter service and you get a number and your food gets brought to you later, it became apparent while we waited for our food that many people had ordered before realizing there were no tables. So it may be worth scoping out a table before placing your order. It was below 30° when I was there and they have a super cute patio with a huge fire. But it would not have been possible to eat there and not have solid ice as my meal. The only table that we were able to squeeze in at was right next to the door so I noticed a plethora of people having to huddle around the fire to eat their food. The food was tasty, but nothing totally spectacular. Also be aware that prices for breakfast do not include anything more than your breakfast sandwich or burrito or whatever else you order. So you will have to pay another $2 or $3 for a breakfast side if you are looking for a sandwich and hash browns. The quiche is really the best deal on the menu because it comes with a side salad so you feel like you got a whole meal for the price of a meal instead of just a sandwich.
The interior has a spiffy feel with a layout for a line. The service is fast and welcoming, not even enough time to decide what I want before reaching the front of the line. Nice simple seating. The mango peach smoothie is refreshing sweet and slightly tart. The banana strawberry smoothie is sweeter and delightful. The tuna salad sandwich is very refreshing, with capers and dill and lots of seasoning. The egg and sausage breakfast sandwich is thick and has the stringiest cheese. All in all the food has a fresh baked feel to it, would definitely recommend.
Some of the best food and coffee I’ve had! This is a great place to come and hangout. Staff was friendly and welcoming right when we walked in. Their food is vegetarian friendly and it tastes great! Come check it out for yourself!!
Serving up hearty, homemade fare that feels like a warm hug for the soul. The menu is a mix of classic American comfort food with a creative twist like Mildred's signature breakfast sandwiches. The coffee is pretty good too! Mildred's pastries are baked in house and OMG emoji worthy!!!!! Whatever you order DO NOT PASS ON the gooey butter cake. It's pure baked sorcery! For breakfast get the standard breakfast sandwich + coffee+ gooey butter cake. For lunch get the onion soup+salad+ any of their quiches. Vegetarian options: The vegetarian breakfast sandwich it's almost better than the standard breakfast sandwich and the avocado/guacamole toast is amazing!
WONDERFUL place to grab lunch and a coffee! The food was great best sandwich IMO was the cubano - it was *really* good and quite authentic coming from someone from Miami - and the pastries were good too I had the gooey cake. Coffee wasn’t bad, but definitely I was more impressed with their food options. Overall the atmosphere inside was nice too - ample seating, and bright and cheery. You absolutely should come here for lunch. Vegetarian options: The black bean burger looked good!
Had breakfast here twice on a recent visit to KC. The place was always busy but not over crowded. Will be back the next time I am in KC. Highly recommend the banana bread as a side to whatever you get for your main.Food: 5/5
