Had a family member visiting from out of town who doesn't live in a metro area. She wanted to pick up soap supplies while she was here, and a quick Google search revealed Mile High Soap as a top selection. I called ahead to inquire if they were wholesale only or sold to the public, and was informed that the latter was true. Because of my call they opened the doors for us even though they intended to remain closed for the day. They have a good assortment of soap needs, but I thought their prices were a little high disclaimer: I don't know anything about soap making supplies. Friendly and helpful staff here.
Mile High Soap is not a place that I would consider a soaping store as their inventory of soaping staples is not consistent enough for that. I'm sure they would be a wonderful supplier if you call ahead and have them assemble an order, but stopping in for basic soaping supplies is not something I recommend. I drove there this past Saturday to pick up lye and coconut oil, again...soaping basics. They had neither. The space was about the size of a living room with maybe a dozen shelves, mostly empty. Again, not a store. I definitely could have called ahead before driving there but, because they're so far from me, I wanted to be there when they opened so I could continue my day. Also, I wrongly presumed that a place called Mile High Soap would have an ample supply of the building blocks of cold processed soap. Due to the smaller nature of this business, it would be very helpful to have a tab on the website, updated weekly, about basic inventory. Personally, my soaping partner and I won't be back here, we'll just order online.
I loved this place as a soapmaker, but I keep returning for bits and bottles. Everyone is always quite friendly, and they have a fantastic selection for a local place. We are lucky to have Mile High Soaps in town!
I went to this store today, and I was very impressed with it. They had a great selection of essential oils and melt and pour bases! The lady at the desk was very nice and helpful as well. I will definitely be returning.
I visited this gem a few days ago and couldn't have been more happy with the service! Also, they have several small businesses under one roof! So it's a one-stop shop for hygiene and health and wellness products. Mile High Soaps, Melt, and Botanic-X products are available and so amazing! I will continue to return for the quality products but also for the exceptional customer service!
Shop somewhere else, this place is bad news 1. you might not get what you ordered and 2. they have horrible costumer service. Let me explain; I purchased some fig berry fragrance oil, and i made some soap with it. I didn't make a test batch because I have used this Fragrance oil in the past. It didn't smell quiet right out of the bottle but fragrance rarely does, so I went ahead and made it anyway. It didn't end up smelling like fig berry it smelled like a sultry vanilla and it discolored cranberry fig shouldn't discolor. So I was under the assumption that the Fragrance oil must have been mislabeled. Before leaving a bad review i took my soap in a 30 min drive each way so they would have a chance to make things right. I didn't have a receipt because they didn't give me one when i purchased the oil. I didn't save the bottle because I thought the sent of the soap was enough. they told me that there was no way that they or there supplier could have made a mistake. I'm sorry but anyone can make a mistake, but what really got me was when when I was walking out the girl behind the counter said "Have fun blaming us for your mistakes." I was in shock. She didn't say come back with a receipt or I will go get my manager, she said i messed up and was blaming them to get something out of it? WOW! I wish she would have helped me figure out what I did wrong, if that was the case. this was all over $10. I would recommend anyone listening to find a different place to shop. I don't like confrontation and they made me feel unpleasant longer than I would have liked. I could understand if they said we cant help you, but to call me a lair? really? shop elsewhere Update: Bret got a hold of me and among other things he said... he said "You have to take some responsibility when making soap, lotion or anything else". I don't know about you but if i where the owner I would have just apologize for the mistake and given me a jar of the fig berry oil.
Love coming here, so many options! They were open a bit early this morning and Kai was there and SO pleasant to chat with!! We needed some emulsifying wax and I ended up getting 10 other items - great selection! Thank you Mike High Soap, I will be back!
Great place to find soap and bath making products. I love ordering soap making products from Mile High Soap company! Supporting small business is the best. They also have classes that I’ve taken, which were so much fun!
The place is clean and the people are nice. However I showed up today and the storefront is closed due to COVID and require me to place my order online. I am not the biggest customer but if I am going to have to place an order online and then wait to pick it up I am going to order online at Brambleberry where the prices are often cheaper and I get discounted to free shipping on orders. Supporting a local business shouldn’t be this difficult and since they have made this decision it is unlikely I will return. I understand you want to keep people safe but this is excessive in my opinion. Wish you luck on your business.
It's the only soap supply spot in town that I know of. So I don't have anything to compare it with. The place has a great selection for a beginning soap maker. They have lye and updated the containers so that it's much easier to pour. So happy about that, because I did notice a difference. Staff is ok. They are a little kind, but also a little off imo. They don't seem that eager to help. They'll answer your questions and provide lots of detail but they definitely give off a vibe of not wanting to deal with you as a customer but they have to so they will. Idk. Got a meh vibe. Only one party is allowed at a time which is better than just one person like it was previously. I'd say prices are pretty reasonable. Selection is ok. I definitely wish they provided larger containers for the colors but I guess I can just get that online. The soap molds are crazy expensive compared to amazon or just Michaels. But I can't speak on the quality so, maybe it's worth it. idk. The hours are annoying. They open at 10am and close at 5pm. During most people's work hours. So we'd really have to go out of our way to shop here like during a lunch break. Well, I guess you can come Saturdays now. I think they are now open on Saturdays. But not Sundays. And still, such a short window of hours to drop by is really annoying. idk. I'll still continue to stop by this place for things that I want in the moment. But other than that, meh. I wouldn't recommend them to claustrophobes since the space is so extremely tiny. I'm not a claustrophobe but I felt kind of uncomfortable in this tiny store. One plus for sure is there is plenty of parking. So don't worry about that. Just worry about finding the place. It isn't in an obvious location. It's like in the warehouse area in the back. My gps lead me to these weird houses next to it, which is NOT IT. Just go to the other side of the fence and you should see it.
