Very friendly staff, quick to see a customer and offer help. We've used them for delivery and planting pricey!! and they did a good job. We also by often without delivery and are always happy with the service and product. And they give military discounts! :
Never Buy A Tree in the Fall - There is no real guarantee. The best guarantee they have is 90 days, which will be long gone by the time spring arrives. Even if they plant it, and part of it lives, it is YOUR fault, not theirs. To your response of May 1: I never said you did not tell me about the guarantee; I basically said I was stupid to think it had any value given that spring was more than 90 days out. I don't think 30% off the tree not the replant was generous, but OK if you do. And, your comment about grass clippings assumes they were there for more that the first week I mowed, which is how long they were actually there. That said, it is a good example of how clever you can be to claim that a half-dead tree was probably not your fault.
The nursery is beautiful! There are always new plants each time I visit. Prices are higher than other garden shops in the area but the unique selection and customer service justifies that! The staff is always helpful and friendly.
Beautiful nursery. They have very impressive concrete statues. The gift shop has the cutest items for a fairy garden. My niece loves shopping here.
Beautiful nursery with some entertainment, food and a gift shop. On the other side of the pandemic, this seems like it's a nice spot for socializing. The staff here are very attentive and helpful, answering all the questions we had about the plants the sell. Really impressed by the staff. We were on a fact-finding mission and weren't ready to buy. But when the time comes to work on our patio and back yard, Millstone will be one of our stops.
We usually visit in early spring because the kids just love planting flowers. The staff is always super helpful and knowledgeable! Would be a beautiful venue too.
Had the most wonderful time with my Mother and her sister today. Goat Cuddles was going on and there were many people there. It was still a very calming atmosphere. The grounds are lovely. They offer a huge selection. I live about an hour away but plan to go back soon to shop for things for my flower beds. The baby goats were so sweet. They also have many birds. Three peacocks that i saw maybe more. Reasonable prices as well. I'll be back.
What a great place! Lots of plants, trees, shrubs, planters, statuary, etc. The people who work there are very nice. I would give it 5 stars except for not actually looking at prices so I don't know how good they are pricewise - because we were so busy looking at turkeys, peacocks and baby goats! Goat Cuddles Day!
It is a beautiful nursery but it is the most expensive one I've been to. They are 3x more expensive on flowers than Dabney. 2x more expensive than Germantown hardware. I will never be back. Shop around you will find a better price.
I like the nursery itself, selection-wise. However, while I struggled to get to the plants I was interested in pushing huge potted plants to the side with my hip several employees looked on, never once offering help. Not sure if it was because I was in my, “I’m cleaning the house” clothes, but they sure tripped over themselves to help some of the other, “nicer dressed” ladies that came in. Then, when I went into the gift shop to check out, I stood at the counter while two of the employees talked about 5 feet away from me. I stood there for awhile and debated whether or not to ask someone for help again but eventually left, aggravated and sans plants. Good news, I went to my car and googled G’town nurseries and discovered Good Winds. I ended up purchasing my plants from someone who appreciated my business, and for $17.00 less, so win-win!
