Income-restricted. Not an issue . . . If their income/employment verification process were quick. We were set to move in by 08/21 and had submitted our documents a few days in advance these documents should have been more than enough to verify our employment/income. We FINALLY heard back on 09/03, and they suddenly requested every paystub I've received since I began working at my job several months ago. What a joke. I've had to couch surf for several weeks because of this place. Even so, I requested a refund of our holding fee a few days ago. Edit: No surprise, but they never got back to us. I would genuinely rather be homeless than live here. Also, if you don't live 5 minutes away from them, then don't even bother trying to apply. They NEVER answer the phone. And, when we finally went in for an update almost 2 weeks after we were supposed to move in because we weren't able to reach them over the phone, the lady dismissed us immediately with a "we haven't forgotten about you." She kept cutting me off and wouldn't even let me talk. I know someone that lives there, and they claim it's the new manager. These complaints only trail back ~7 months, so I wouldn't doubt it. Please, PLEASE - for your own sake - steer clear of this place. NOTE: I hope the employees don't take this personally, but I wanted others to know the frustrations I dealt with while going through this painful process.
Applied here and waited four months, no one knew my case, papers got lost, I had to re-due everything, then I was told my apartment on hold was mine, only to be told I didn't qualify. I get it that all income restricted housing is run by the government, and different places vary, but no place can be as incompetent as Moda. After I told them I was going to move somewhere else because they were taking too long to approve or deny me, they took TWO months to return my deposit to me. AND, get this, they mailed it to themselves. They literally mailed my deposit to themselves instead of mailing to me after I had emailed the address to send it to. This place needs to reported to HUD. On top of this, just to add, when I toured the place, the garage was broken, the different floors had trash and abandoned junk scattered all over the hallways, and the place just smelled foul. There are a lot of nice income restricted housing in Salt Lake, just do a quick Google Search. Avoid Moda.
I called yesterday 1/12/22 around 9:30 am and the front desk reception lady was super rude and condescending when I called to inquire about a property opening. It was weird and uncalled for as I was super nice to her over the phone. Turned me off from renting here entirely
Horrible customer service. Couple weeks ago saw ad on KSL, called Tuesday for appointment on Thursday. Drove there from bountiful only to find out unit had been rented. Woman at the desk asked me who had helped me, to which she replied “she doesn’t know, she only works a couple days”. Like another review mentions she did not offer chair and was not wearing a mask. Last week Friday I called again for ad and woman that answered told me she would not be able to show me unit available for July 10 until today 7/3. I show up at 11am for my apply and there was a note inside the office stating they are closed! They have no respect for their customers. Also I was able to enter lobby, and from there you have access to elevators and parking garage. Not very secure, considering part of town they are in. Trash inside lobby was overflowing. If they are like this with future tenants I imagine their f/u with issues relating to apartments must be nonexistent.
I called and emailed multiple times about renting here and no response back. So I finally decided to go in to the office, and there was a sign on the door saying someone would be back at noon. It wasnt long till noon so I waited. She did not return till 12:40. She didnt ask my name or even offer me a chair so I just stood at her desk as she told me the prices on line and on the broucher was wrong. Reading the reviews while waiting, I can totally see why people are saying that this place has no management. Really sad.
The stars are for the place being new and the maintenance crew for being awesome. Other than that the property isn't great. They say it's income restricted but have the same rent as places that aren't and just as nice units. A lot of the tenants there are loud and have no regard for others around them, even with noise complaints filed. Office staff is unbelievably hard to get a hold of and in the year living there has gone through 5 people?? Lastly it really isnt in a great part of SLC and I never felt comfortable to walk around alone at night.
We were planning on moving here because a friend of our stays there but then told us not to. The staff goes into people apartments when they’re not home.. and they’re always changing the prices. The front office is known to harass tenants also. We’ve just heard a lot of bad things from this place and judging from the reviews, looks like they’re right.
Here’s my experience: For 2 weeks straight I have tried to contact this property about openings. I have submitted applications, called daily, sent emails, requested to be texted, messages on Facebook and I even visited the property 45 minute drive from where I currently work only to find that they decided to take an hour off for “paperwork”, which happened to be the hour that I got to actually go to the property. They won’t allow 2 full time students to rent an apartment. THIS IS ILLEGAL^. You are not allowed to discriminate based on status of living. They have an annual income cap of 39,000 for 2 people. They will never respond to you. They are unprofessional, and controlling. Wouldn’t recommend.
I've been calling the leasing office for four days, left VM's, sent messages, EVERYTHING. They WON'T answer me or call me back. I don't live anywhere near this place so I even went as far as calling the furniture store across the street so that the guy could give them my number and when he reached back out to me he said that the leasing office staff looked really confused. Hey guys- maybe you wouldn't be so confused if you answered the f****** phone. I get it if you're a little busy working on showings, etc. But if the nice guy from the furniture store passed by and you guys were all standing around NOT CALLING ME BACK then wth are you doing? ZERO customer service from this place. If this is the leasing office that probably makes a commission from their sales I can't even imagine what the maintenance staff will be like.
STOP POSTING ON FACEBOOK! You guys have no one in the office to answer your phones or respond to inquiries! It’s pathetic they create fake accounts to give their sad excuse of apartments some kind decent review. Notice they only give 5 stars, but no review. If they spent more time responding to emails and answering phone calls they wouldn’t need to do all that. FIRE ALL EMPLOYEES IN THE LEASING OFFICE and start new.
