Mojito Tapas Restaurant

Previous visits to Mojitos have been pleasant, but the substandard service we received on our last visit has caused me to re-evaluate my opinion. The server assigned to our table seemed completely disinterested in us. No eye contact, inaudible mumbling when placing our order. One of my wife's tapas arrived, and then we waiting at least 15 minutes while we watched our waiter play with his phone in the back and socialize with his co-workers. Some effort to coordinate our entrees would have been appreciated. I watched my wife finish her food, and then after our server finally decided to check with the kitchen, lo and behold the rest of the food arrived. "Careful, hot plate," I was warned. No, it wasn't because it was easily sitting back there for ten minutes or more. Anyway, one of my tapas plates was incorrect (steak skewer instead of chicken)--but the waiter never came back for a customary check on how are food was. The mojito I ordered barely had any alcohol in it either--which was strange because in my past visits they had been fairly strong. I would have loved to address this with the server, but again he was nowhere to be found. Despite the lackluster service, we contemplated dessert--but figured it would take us at least another half hour to get out of there between waiting for the server to take our order, deliver to food and finally help us settle the check. The food was amazing as usual, but unfortunately having a really bad waiter has turned me off of this place. Hopefully people won't get stuck with this guy as we did and have a better experience than us.

This is one of our family's favorite restaurants in East Lou. Cuban inspired small plates. Seafood especially good here.

This place is absolutely fabulous!!! I can't even begin to explain how much I love this place. The staff is lovely and attentive. The food is sooo amazing! It has so much flavor and makes me come back for more. They also have amazing deserts and the prices are perfect. It is a little small and sometimes a long wait but it's definitely worth it! It's a must try!!!

The start to the night not so great. Yelp says they take reservations...but they DO NOT! They have call ahead seating and the lady on the phone never wrote down our last name...we expected it because the lady sounded like a total dud. Not enough seating or room to accommodate the crowd. Even though the food is decent...it's not enough to change my rating. It's expensive to eat out, so I expect to have a great total experience.

Caesar salad is good. Weird croutons that just weren't my taste but I can see many might like them. I prefer traditional croutons and they were more like a bread. Calamari is superb and I like the sorta spicy dipping sauce. If you're after plantains like the ones at Havana Rumba they dont do them like that. Instead they are like banana chips with guac. I love the atmosphere here, busy and crowded yet roomy. Service is spotty l, I've had good servers and some tough ones. Being loud it is tuff to try and understand the broken language. I'm willing to deal with that but it leads to misorders sometimes. Good place all around though.
