The food was awesome! The service was great! And the red chili and German was good. The red chili they ask you if you want it with pork or none! Try the pork! It’s good! First time trying their restaurant and other then that always buy their red chili at the super market . Very good. We’ll be back when we are back in town.
I was quite impressed with this location, it was very cute inside and out. We sat outside because it was a beautiful day and they had a lovely outdoor patio section that was shaded. There were many options to choose from! I went with the Chile rellenos and thought it tasted very well! I was a little surprised to see if with cheddar cheese though. Overall it was not bad! Only knocking down 1 star because my MIL’s chicken tacos tasted like old/dry/unseasoned meat and the bill came out to roughly +$60 for 3 which I felt was a little expensive for what we got. Everything else was great! - special mention to the salsa and sopapillas which I loved.
I'm not a local, but I do have over 50 years of experience eating solid food, so I do feel qualifed enough to write a review. This place was BUSY on a Sunday morning, so that was the first good sign. After a short wait I was seated at a table and started looking over the menu. It covered the range of what one would think a local joint would serve, with lots of focus on dishes made with those delicious regional Chile peppers. I went for the special of the day, which was Tamales and Eggs, and I strongly feel that I made the right decision. The tamales were plump with pork that was super tender and surrounded by soft masa. The eggs were cooked to order at over medium. The plate was rounded out with some skillet potatoes, my choice of Chile I chose Christmas red+green and a dollop of sour cream. As if that wasn't enough, it also came with a fresh made sopaipilla the size of a softball. Being so busy I didn't have "a waiter" but I was well taken care of by the village of servers constantly buzzing past my table. Bottom line - you can't go wrong eating here unless you just don't like good food.
Our first stop on our first visit to New Mexico. Delicious. Fresh ingredients. Excellent knowledgeable friendly service. I liked the way the wait staff all worked together. We had a ground beef chimichanga and the hand rolled tacos. Both were the best we’ve ever had. The pork marinated in red sauce is awesome too. We’re only in town for 5 days and are already planning to come back back for breakfast.
Great fajitas, enchiladas & sopapilla with honey! The green chili pepper soup was interesting but not the best dish we tried. There's a nice outdoor patio or plenty of indoor seating options.
I ate lunch at Monroe's a week ago and the experience was totally fantastic. First let me say that I arrived early around 11:30am on a Monday and I got the last table available, so if you go, be prepared to wait. I had the Carne Adovada entree and everything on my plate was delicious. The meat was so succulent and tender. I'm drooling right now just thinking about it. The service was as great as the food. My server was super friendly and my glass never sat empty. The servers do a great job of working as a team and it makes for a great experience. I can't wait to return and I highly recommend.
Best Mexican food I've had in a long time! I got the chicken fajitas and it came out sizzling beautifully. An added bonus was the little sopapilla the dinner came with.
Holy cow this place was great. We were on vacation in Albuquerque and needed our Tex Mex fix. This was one of the only places that popped up in the city nearby, so we decided to give it a try. It was super clean. Looks newly renovated. The service was quick and friendly. The employees all work together nicely. The salsa was a little spicy, the chips thick and salty. There are many different options to choose from on the menu from vegetarian to gluten free. We got salads, an enchilada, a taco, and a sopaipilla. All of them were hot, fresh and ready, and of course, delicious. The prices were reasonable and the bathrooms were taken care of and clean, a bit small, but did the job. I highly recommend this place for the Tex Mex lover.
Visiting ABQ for the weekend and wanted something quick but local. We came closer to closing but every one was friendly and the restaurant was clean. We got the Indian taco and the cheese enchilada. Both were delicious! Plenty of food!
We ate here on a road trip and it was absolutely delicious! A true Albuquerque original. I ordered a red and green tamale and a cup of posole, and my partner got a chicken and beef chile relleno. Those, plus the sopas and their salsa, were incredible. We will definitely visit again when we come back!
