Monrose Row is a three-story Greek revival townhouse built in 1839 with a most charming courtyard. Located in the historic Treme neighborhood, two blocks outside the French Quarter. The Bed and Breakfast is walkable to all downtown venues.
Part of a group of three, three story Greek Revival row houses, Monrose Row was begun in 1839 for Charles Monrose. Monrose, who had a bakery and residence on Bourbon Street until 1838, moved to the corner building, the first of his planned row, opening his business in 1839. Later that same year, Monrose's creditors held public auction and he lost his new property to attorney Louis Janin. Janin immediately completed the row of three houses and sold each to separate owners.
One hundred and eighty years later, after meticulous restoration, awarded by the Historic District Landmarks Commission, Monrose Row consists of two of the three original townhouses.
