I wanted to find out more about modular homes, so I stopped in one afternoon. We already have owned a few regularly constructed homes, but I had heard some pretty favorable things about modular homes these days. Well, I never did get to actually see any of the models or have any of my questions answered because as I walked in the door, I was told right off the bat that I better be prepared to pay $150/square foot. While that was not even my question (I was more interested in how they retain their value on a permanent foundation (appreciate vs. depreciate), how quickly they can be put on a piece of land, and limits on customization), I did respond that that seemed kind of high because it seems like you could get a new home built for that. He told me that I had no idea what I was talking about. I said I knew that Billings was popular right now, but I actually watch the real estate market here pretty close as we plan to put our home up for sale in the next few months and my husband is in construction as well. He then told me if I think that's too high, I should just go across the street and look at trailers because that seems to be what I am looking for. He then walked out of the room. I honestly thought that I was on one of those hidden camera shows or something because I have never dealt with somebody so rude, arrogant, and purposefully argumentative- especially in sales. I stood there shocked for a moment and then just walked out. I suppose I still don't have answers to any of my questions, but after being treated like that, I suppose I will just stick with regular construction this Spring.

Would not recommend buying a home from them. They don't stand by the product they are selling. And trying to get them to finish the work is constantly an issue

Their display homes are fully furnished and hooked to Utilities for comfort and easy viewing no matter what the weather has in store. Montana Modular is unique to other Retail homes centers due to the flexibility of the staff to build your own custom home for as little as 65.00 a square foot. Many of their display homes have 2 stories and basement entry ways built into the home.
