This place has been on my radar for awhile. Located in downtown and luckily was able to find parking directly in front. The pizza was thin crust and they had a unique topping choices you gently don't find at a typical restaurant. I read the comments and one con is the cost. The prices are high for what you're getting but the taste made up for it in my opinion. I would skip out on getting a beer at the prices that they're asking though. Besides that the service by Georgia was excellent and she had perfect timing when checking up on us. The look of the place had a modern meets 80s/90s with the artwork.
One of our favorite places to stop and have lunch when we are in town. The meat balls are huge as an appetizer. I love their library salad and the small is still to much for me. Service is always great even when they are busy.
Had dinner and a drink at Mootz last night, and although it was SUPER busy due to multiple concerts in Detroit we had a great time. We had the meatballs, caprese salad not pictured, margherita pizza, and a couple beers which were all quite good. The service however was incredible even during a huge crunch, so hats off to the gentleman that served us while being super attentive and very courteous. 10/10 would recommend and plan on returning.
Don't underestimate this place as simply a pizza joint. Firstly the pizza speaks for itself with it's delicious, crisp airy crust and unique topping combinations. The twist comes with the bar offering. I'm personally a bourbon drinker and was surprised they had over 30 brands stocked but also the quality selections for other cocktails sets this place apart. I'm a bit of a food and beverage guy and the bartender John was extremely knowledgeable about his craft. The place has a great vibe to start or end the night!
Cool ambiance, great service. We got the garlic knots, Greek salad, “The Uptown and the Bronx” and the Mediterranean pizza. The garlic knots and pepperoni pizza was top 3 best pizzas I’ve ever had! I’d skip the Mediterranean next time, it wasn’t what I was expecting. Highly recommend!
Delicious, unique pizza here. We got the Garlic Knots to start - soft inside, crunchy outside, all the garlic you could dream of. Then we had: the Bee Sting NYC pizza sauce, pepperoni, fresh mootzarella, fresh basil, hot honey & the Juliet Mootzarella, prosciutto, fig jam, balsamic glaze, green onions, pecorino, shaved parmesan The crust had the perfect crunch and all the flavors were very balanced. All ingredients were fresh and of great quality. The staff was very friendly and helpful too!
Great pizza for after a Tigers game or just relaxing downtown. The sauce has a sweet taste to it. Food came out hot and drinks came out cold!
This place is really awesome for some NY-style pizza. The pizza was really good and this place has an awesome vibe. All the food was delicious. Loved this place. I would recommend to anyone visiting Detroit to go to this place for some good pizza.
Downtown to pickup our Detroit Free Press Marathon bibs so we reserved a table on Open Table at Mootz. So glad we did! It was 4:30 and Mootz was busy but we were immediately seated. The waitress introduced herself and provided excellent service. The restaurant appeared well staffed. We all ordered pasta and no one was disappointed. Everyone but me finished their's except me but I really enjoyed the cheese bread before the entree arrived. I plan to return.
This was my first time visiting and I must say I am impressed!!!!!! This has to be the best pizza I have had in my 44 years of life lol, next to Paris, France and downtown Chicago. Staff is very friendly and courteous. I suggest going during the afternoon, this restaurant is very popular and it can get busy.
