My daughter is a junior. This is her 2nd year here at MorganView. Last year from day 1 there was nothing but problems with this off campus housing situation. I can’t believe they charge such high rent for these slum like living conditions. You tell them about issues and they take their sweet time resolving the problem even if it a possible health risk. This year unfortunately we are back; limited housing options and again nothing but problems. They really need to update the property and either hire more staff to address the numerous problem or modernize to limit the issues with old furnishings ie furniture, fixtures, appliances.
I give two stars because it's convenient for my daughter to get to school and would appear safer than the on campus housing. To pay almost $900 a month for four people in a dorm each paying $900 is ridiculous as. Especially when the kitchens are old, the elevators are consistently broke and the furniture that they supply in the living room area is old and worn down. They can do better for this amount of money. The only consistent thing about Morgan View is that they will charge the late fee for rent and proceed with eviction notices knowing the kids are waiting for the refund from school to be applied to the account. This only cause anxiety and stress to the kids there. This shows greed and inconsistency. You can do much better!
I work here.. you might like your here if you plan on going to Morgan State University the RA's a very attentive if you have a problem with getting into your unit or anything of that nature they will get up out of their beds or leave from their homes because some of them don't live on campus to come and help you out and I think the one thing that students don't realize is that these personnel are students also. But as far as I have seen it's very clean has a pretty nice atmosphere the leasing office features small restaurant which has some small household items also food is very good
I really wish I could give this place 0/5 stars because this complex is absolutely dreadful. There has been a leak in my sink that has stayed there since I moved in 2 years ago. Maintenance takes forever to respond to any requests. You would have better luck contacting someone from a different company to fix the issues that are in your apartment. This place has a bad infestation problem. Even when pest control came to my apartment, they didn't even patch up holes or anything. There were still mice running around. I had to purchase my own traps to try and catch them. The walls are so thin that you can hear almost everything coming from the next room. It is a shame this place seems to be getting worse than better. I highly recommend NOT living here!!
If I could give Morganview negative five stars, I would. IF YOU ARE A MORGAN STUDENT BEWARE. Everything was fine in august but as the school year unfolded so did the multitude of issues. First off, the staff that work in the main office are not properly trained. I was given miss information countless times and barely received an apology for it. The mouse/rat problem is absurd. There is a rodent problem throughout the ENTIRE COMPLEX. They offer to move you to a different apartment but it changes absolutely nothing. My roommates and I have been lied to about maintenance coming to our apartment. We’ve filed multiple service requests over the past few months and maintenance hasn’t been to fix ANYTHING. And to top it all off they tried to charge me $400 to break a lease I never signed. And when I asked for a copy of said lease, all of the sudden they were advised by the school to release me without penalty. Overall my experience was a 0/10.
I really want to give 0 STARS. Overall, Morgan View is terrible. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay here. Horrible management ESPECIALLY Kenneth Cole who is supposedly the head of being in charge. He doesn’t reply to emails on time nor is he ever in the main office. When I finally got a chance to speak with him, he just had this nonchalant attitude acting like he didn’t want to resolve anything. Can’t even get a simple apology from him neither. Maintenance is horrible as well. Overall, Just a bunch of lazy workers who won’t do their jobs. At this point you might as well pay the students who stay at Morgan View to do their jobs since we have to fix our own problems. Maintenance goes in and out of rooms without any consent. They threw away my belongings even though I still had my lease while I was away for just a couple of weeks. I didn’t want to come on here and give such a nasty review like this but, Morgan View deserves it.
If I could give a zero I definitely would because Morgan view is the worst establishment you can stay at near Morgan state because maintenance never comes when ever something needs fixing. When mouses were running up in the closets and rooms Morgan view took their time to get to work. When my roommate had Covid they were upset they me the roommate was alerting them as if I did something wrong. Lastly, the people you get you have no clue are and the background and how they are living wise and it makes it completely hard to do things when the person you are rooming with is unknown where I had to do all the buying and taking out the trash. I wouldn’t even recommend Morgan view to anybody who has nothing to find because I was there for 3 years and when I tried to leave. They said I need to find someone to get approved by Morgan state and when doing so they never responded unless I responded multiples times and I called and all honesty the place is not professional. They have part time college students who don’t know what they are doing and unless you move out and don’t have a lease they have no way to take more money from you.
morgan students do not live here!! you are paying either $927 a month for nothing. the gym they offer is literal trash, half of the equipment is broke. the “store” in the main building is overpriced and even charges for something as simple as a straw even if you brought the drink from them. everything in the apartment falls apart. maintenance takes months to fix things. my fridge broke and me and my roommates put in several request and then had to email management just to get maintenance to come. by the time they came all of our food was spoiled and they didn’t want to reimburse us. management told us it was our fault the fridge broke and all the food was spoiled. the staff never solves problems either, they blame everything on you. they charge for everything. they now have a “curfew” on the side door for each building and if you open if after 7pm they charge you $75. the parking pass is literally a joke. you have to pay $125 just to park. the rooms are small and the walls are paper thin so everyone can hear your business. this apartment complex is not the worth the money your paying. there are apartments down the street that are less expensive and do not have nearly as many problems.
I would rather stay on campus then to live here. Roommate matching is awful and while you may have your own bedroom, you still must deal with three other roommates in the common area with thin walls separating you and your roommates. The washers and dryers on the fourth floor are always out of order. Trash is often left in the hallways and elevators. I agree with what the other raters said about the smell of marijuana. I often walked through clouds of marijuana smoke to get to my apartment on the fourth floor. Elevators are scary to ride and one use to jerk extremely hard in my old building, 1541. Management staff rarely handles conflict among residents as I have had several conflicts with a roommate who had excessive guests and did not clean the common area. RUN WHILE YOU CAN! This place is awful and I rather had to the risk of living in an apartment off campus. The office staff is very unprofessional as well and often break the same rules that they tell the residents to abide by. Did I mention that the property has room checks and management seems to enter in and out of people's apartments every other week. There is no privacy here and the rules are becoming stricter than the dorms.
The biggest trap for Morgan students. Way overpriced! Please stay somewhere else. In the contract you unknowingly sign for them to enter your room at any time and they will fine you for whatever they can. Also, you cannot cancel your lease unless you find someone to replace you, or be forced to continue paying your rent even though you don't live there. The RAs like Tajai are the best part about this place.
