Mount Desert Island Ice Cream

Ice cream selection was an eclectic version of some traditional staples, but done in unique ways. The butterscotch miso was awesome and the chocolate was as if you were in a baker's kitchen and sampling the good stuff! Service was polite, but not quite personable. Napkins were available throughout, but the space needed some additional seating options. Most people must walk up, wait in line, and leave after receiving their order.

Wide range of delicious flavors. We went twice and it was great both times. Be sure to taste test. They do have some wild flavors. Natural ingredients are used. Making for a better choice than the others ice cream shops around.

By far the bestest ice cream I had in US. The flavors are very unique and the menu keeps changing I guess. With two days in Acadia, we visited this ice cream parlour like some 5 times. We had Pistachio Kulfi and butter beer and was very delicious.

I had a great ice cream that was a chocolate base with truffle. Super slow staff whom were rude, hot and stuffy atmosphere. Couldn't read the flavors until I got to the front, and then had to order quickly. My boyfriend ordered a white chocolate raspberry ice cream, and they gave him a fig ice cream instead. He asked if this was the right one and they insisted it was. He has to throw it out. Very unpleasant expierence, although the chocolate truffle ice cream I got was very good. Not a family environment.

This place is really excellent. They have a bunch of ice creams that can best be described as 'experimental' for the adventurous eater and a few more mundane things for the rest of us. Naturally everyone will prefer some flavors over others, but even if a particular flavor is simply not your thing, there is no doubt that it's well made. I personally loved their sea salt caramel. It's a safe and oh so delicious choice for a picky eater.
