Nice aesthetic, 8week poetry session. Around $50 a week. If you’re interested or having anxiety or depression must try couple classes.
I haven't taken any classes yet but I like that they offer beginner classes and private sessions and book studio time! You wear a mask and they limit to how many people come in. It would be 5 star rating if I had taken a class but I was visiting a friend who was making ceramics.
I’ve been taking classes here for years - Mugi is a warm community full of potters willing to share, inspire, and commune in their process. The teachers are great Outi is a wonderful, mad potting scientist!, there are lots of open studio hours for free practice hours on top of classes, and it is generally home to a dynamic, lovely, and lively bunch of creatives.
I went here for the couple's night. It was a lot of fun, our instructor was very friendly. I ended up with two mugs and they are both a little goofy looking but at least they are one of a kind. The studio is in a lively area with loads of great restaurants and bars so it's great for a date night.
Taking a pottery class was one of my favorite decisions I made when I lived in the Upper West Side. I loved getting my hands dirty and completely escaping from my normal routine. I had never tried pottery before, and the atmosphere at Mugi Pottery was welcoming and encouraging for learning. I ended up signing up for classes again and again. Being a student at Mugi Pottery also opened up a new group of people I got to know through Mugi's friendly gallery opening night parties.
Warm friendly atmosphere where people help people to better themselves as you better your pottery skills... Whether you're a seasoned artist, a curious, apprehensive beginner or somewhere in between... You'll always come away with a wonderful experience and a smile! Mugi Studio where learning and creativity abounds!
Couples pottery class was fantastic! Four of us gal pals went together and our teacher Valerie was amazing-- so sweet, funny, and patient! Can't wait to see what our pottery looks like after it's kilned!
A lovely and cozy studio. where everyone is helpful and feels like family. The Studio is small so you need to be OK with working close to other people, but everyone is very kind and considerate. I took one session and have not been able to stop. :
The center of creativity and community. The studio provides all basic you need to start enjoy making pottery. The classes and practice are flexible with schedule. I have made many silly pieces and some of my own curiosity and creativity.
We went here for a couples class and had a blast! We made a mug together and it turned out beautifully.
