Myrtle Beach Academy of Aviation

Let me say up front. Really nice facilities, friendly folks, and a strong array of aircraft. That being said my issue is with the agreement terms for renting an aircraft. I discovered, while attempting to get set up to rent, that one of the documents is basically asking a person to exempt MBAA from virtually any kind of liability. I, of course, didn't sign this and would guess an attorney would not recommend their client sign this type of agreement. I have never seen anything even close to this type of document in any rental vehicle, RV, or aircraft rentals from any other facility. While we had a lively discussion and they said they would look into it, I've not heard anything more from MBAA. I understand business attempting to protect themselves from frivolous lawsuits (the MBAA stated purpose of the document) but this type of demand goes way to far in my opinion. I believe there are better ways to protect themselves without putting their customers in a potentially seriously compromising situation by signing the document. I'm not mad - just sad as I would like to do business with MBAA but not on these terms. Respectfully

I started working on my private pilot certificate in 2013 at Myrtle Beach Academy Of Aviation. For various personal reasons I had to stop. It was a great group with nice aircraft back then, and I'm happy to report it's gotten even better. I recently met with the Director who was very accommodating to my schedule and I restarted my training right away. They've added several more training aircraft to the fleet which makes scheduling a breeze. Top notch school.

Thanks to Myrtle Beach Academy of Aviation for hosting my nephew and I on a discovery flight. I am a flight student up in PA so this flight wasn't for me but I enjoyed this hour flight as much as my nephew. Seriously thinking about calling them when I return to see about finishing my private pilots certification. Top notch school and great aircraft! Hope to see you soon!

Recently took the Discovery Flight. Denis made it quite enjoyable and "flying" the plane was amazing. This was a great value to experience what a flight lesson is like or for just the great view of the beach and Ocean. Going to start my private pilot with MBAA!
