I agree with the 2 men who wrote reviews. Robin is not mentally stable. I paid for over 22 hours in lessons and his is the only school out here. He has a split personality. He made accusations while we were alone in his office a few years back, when I thought all was going well. he was nice until everyone left the office and premises. He thought I called the TSA on him, reporting him, because he did not have himself already listed with them or something to that effect. He acted insane while no one was there. i cried all the way home. I was suppose to do a cross country that day with him. What a nightmare. Then later I found out he was fired as a psychology Professor at College of Charleston and the FBI raided his office. You never know who you are talking to with him. He can be the nicest guy or totally insane. The College of Charleston Story turned out to be a very bad thing. Do not waste your money. However its a great place to open a Flying school. I hope some people will and put this guy out of business.

I began flight training at zero hours with Charleston Flight Services. Had heard the instructor was hard to deal with, but figured "man, I get along with everyone.. It'll be different for me". In the end I was fortunate to get my money refunded and move to a better school across town. Originally I did not write a review as I was happy to move on. In the course of several months I have heard from several that they had a similarly bad experience, one of them still trying to recover thousands of dollars in pre-paid flight hours. The instructor at is a very thorough, knowledgeable, skilled and safe pilot and teaches flight in an exciting and challenging way. Unfortunately there seems to be a personality clash which was not just for me, but for around a dozen pilots I've met who flew at this school. This is a warning to all to approach with caution or find another place if you have dreams of completing a PPL at one school. The lower prices are not worth the pain.

Very professional, informative, and a pleasure to work with. Definitely going to come back and share with friends. Robin is very polite and passionate. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed!

Amazing experience. Our pilot Robin was knowledgeable, experienced, and knew a lot of local history. Very friendly and caring. He made the experience all the better from his enthusiasm of flying. Do recommend. Not sure the cause of the negative reviews. Our experience was wonderful. And sure, it's Sutter home wine for the sunset flight, but you can't beat the price to see Charleston as the sun sets while having a little wine.

This flight school was not very easy to do business with and I ended up going elsewhere. I would highly recommend you check out the other flight schools in the area before making a decision.
