The location was not ideal because it's in the very back of the base which made it difficult for taxis to find us. Please note the base command does not allow Uber drivers on base so you must have a rental car or be prepared to walk to the visitor's center (20-25 min) to meet your driver. The Navy Lodge also does not have an elevator, which could be a problem for people with mobility issues. One of the front desk staff, Blair, was amazing and jumped into action to resolve an issue with the location of our room. The room was clean and very spacious. The price, service and staff made my stay worthwhile. The lodge is 15 -20 minutes from National Harbor, MGM casino, downtown, Smithsonian, the Capitol, Tanger Outlet Mall, and Old Town Alexandria. I would definitely stay here again.

Good rates, and a good bed to sleep in. Breakfast was very basic (bagels, cereal, and boiled eggs). Can't beat the price for the comfy bed.

This is a wonderful place to stay! The lady at the front desk was nice. The room was clean and cozy. Bathrooms are bit small plus the tub was creaking underneath me when I showered and I'm not that heavy. That was a bit concerning but I enjoyed my stay. The bathroom products were pretty great as well.

I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt. But after staying in pet friendly lodging around the world, I will say this is by far the worst. If you have pets, do not bring them here. IF you can get into Andrews TLF, go there. It is amazing. If you don't have pets or children, I don't think you'd be as bothered by things as I am but if I were you, I'd probably look for an AirBnB instead.
If you do choose to come here, I have a couple of tips for you. If you take 2-3 tissues and fold them in half the long way, you can use those to fill the gap around the door/doorframe to block out the hallway light at night. Also, keep an extra towel to fill the 1 inch gap at the bottom of the door. This also helps muffle out the sound of your neighbors yelling down the hallway after 10pm, the staff having full conversations outside your door in the wee hours of the morning, and kids running around making animals in other rooms bark. There is a full fridge/freezer but no oven, only a stove top and microwave. There are far less utensils in the drawers than other TLF like lodging so make sure you inventory before you go shopping to ensure you have what you need to prepare meals. And while it is not lodging's fault, a good to know fact, T-Mobile does not get phone service inside the rooms unless the phone is by the window. I missed many calls simply because my phone was located on the nightstand.
Overall, the rooms are overpriced and then you still have to pay to use the washers and dryers.
But, on the bright side, I will agree with others who stated the staff are friendly.

This place is completely old and dated with an odd smell. It is on the side of the base that is very dark and creepy and butted up against the water treatment plant and parts of DC I would never go. I have not seen an elevator and although i don't mind stairs, these are on the back side of the hotel where I wouldn't want to be alone. Staff was nice enough but I have stayed elsewhere on this base and am appalled at the difference in quality.
