Needham Garden Center

They sold me a MacKissic Leaf Shredder for a grand and failed to honor the warranty So I have a pretty big piece of property with lots of leaves and small branches to shred. They told me this would handle the branches and leaves around my house with no problem. Wow were they wrong. After about 5 hours of use, the rubber baffle on the chipper was destroyed and now no matter what I put in it (leaves or sticks) is all blows out the chipper opening and into your face. After about 10 hours, one of the vines I put in the chipper wrapped around the shaft and caused the engine seal to fail. When that happened all the oil leaked out and in and blew up the engine. I then had a $1000 hunk of steel. So I took it back to the store and all they could tell me is that it was my fault as I had let it run out of oil. It was obvious why it failed, but the two bit store I bought it from had nobody that could really troubleshoot what went wrong as they never took it apart enough to determine the real cause. (Pictures available to prove that was the cause.) I discovered this only as I was putting on a new engine myself.

I bought a leaf blower here over the summer to replace one I got at a big box retailer. Last weekend I noticed one of the straps was frayed and split. So, I stopped in Saturday to see if it was covered under the warranty. I should mention that the shop was packed with snow blowers being tuned up. They stopped what they were doing and in less than 5 minutes, I had a new strap and was on my way. The customer service is second to none. These guys have their customers backs, and I'll be buying any other yard equipment I need here!

Great garden center. I read the reviews for garden equipment and people are mad but when it comes to garden products they carry what the big box stores don't (Scotts, Jonathan Greene full line of products). They are knowledgeable and helpful. Reason why I came to give 5 stars is because they made a mistake on a price tag and charged me more, I came back and the gentleman refunded the difference and apologized, no actitude or bad look, the way it should be. Greatly recommended for garden products.

Nice. The type of garden center/ specialty hardware store I grew up with. The front is sales of gardening tools, mowers, snowblowers and lawn and garden supplies. The back room is repair parts and maintenance. Yup, they actually have a knowledgeable repair and maintenance team with a workshop on premise!

Bought lots of stuff here in the past. I find them pricey for repairs but they do a nice job. Recently, my snowblower broke. I live 2 miles away and they offered to pick it up. However, they wanted to charge me $60 for a 5 minute ride, so I'm done with them.
