I'm not from New Mexico and do not live in Albuquerque. However, on occasions I have to go to Albuquerque for work. I didn't want to leave my dog just anywhere. I called around and found New Mexico Kennels. After talking to the receptionist I felt it was the place for my Reno. I was right. They are great there! My little dude always seems so happy when I pick him up. I also, had a chance to meet and talk to the owner. She was lovely and I could tell she really has a passion for dogs and animals. Made me that much more confident in my decision. I only wished they stayed open later. Other than that I give them a 5 star. Excellent place.
I have taken my dog to NM Kennels for over 3 years. My dog is always well taken care of and clean when I pick her up. I also use their grooming salon and Sheryl does a great job of grooming my lab mix. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. Because the owners are on the premises at night, I feel my dog is safe and carefully watched.
Our dog stated here for a couple nights, and we would definitely recommend these kennels to anyone. They were very friendly, offered several different options to tailor the stay to my dog's needs, and thanks to the grooming option, our dog came home smelling and looking better than when she left.
My dogs have stayed at NMK at least 3 or 4 times now. They share a kennel in the small dog area which has heated floors. They have seemed well when we pick them up and are happy to visit there. The staff recognizes them and makes much of them. It took me awhile, but I now trust these folks who have been at it for over 30 years with my dog-children.
Great, safe place for your furry family member. Our dog has been here 3 times and she seems very happy upon returning to us. Very happy they are so easy to schedule with and the staff seems very polite.
We were very nervous to leave our pup for the first time. New Mexican kennel was amazing. Our pup got a frozen treat a day, one on one playtime, and she had a blast. They also gave her a doggy report card! We will definitely be back
My dog has been boarding here for the last three years and he loves it! I know this because every time we arrive he's so thrilled to go in that he barely even says goodbye. The staff are all very kind and sensitive to his needs. I absolutely recommend this place.
Absolutely the best place to board your dog, cat, bird or whatever. We've been taking our "kids" there for 14 years have always been completely satisfied. The staff is great and the owner is wonderful. We think our dog likes it there better than at home!
NM Kennels gets the job done, but you would be hard-pressed to call it Best in Town. It is certainly better than K-9 Country Club, but there are better options in town. I trust the staff, but I have two main reservations about this place; 1 My dogs always come back smelling like, well, dogs. There's no reason for this, as they're small guys and housed together. I've never had this problem elsewhere; 2 The pick-up times are real limited. This makes me wonder if staffing of the facility is what it should be. But the dogs are cared for and unlike the Country Club--for my dogs and others--they've never gotten sick after their visit.
I always know my dogs will be well cared for when we leave them at New Mexican Kennels. They have optional play time for the dogs, and relatively large indoor/outdoor runs so the dogs can choose whether to stay inside or go outside. Everyone there is nice, too.
