Newark Penn Station

The station is ok, but they need to train their staff better in giving directions, especially to those who come from New York and travel there for the first time to connect to the light train. In my opinion, better signs are necessary, that lead the rider effectively from the NYC train, through the station, to the other station where you make the connection to the light train.

Station is old shows its age. Platforms are dark & dirty. Need better lighting. Not easy to find info on trains only one info. Booth for nj transit, hard to find. Only sign boards with info on tracks and only gives u current train arriving.

S Station is a handy option towards pricey connections to Manhattan. Only thing I dislike is the lack of personnel on platform helping out with ticket kiosks . Not enough or none after 7pm

The place is absolutely littered with pestering professional beggars at every turn. Missed my train, but luckily the officers patrolling the place scooped me into a private office to sleep for the night. That was very gracious of them. Aside from that, the place is a bit of hell on Earth.

There are days when it can get very overwhelming. But while things are smooth, it works well. Connects PATH, NJ transit Amtrak. Lot happens during peak hours.
