If you're not familiar with the station, it's really hard to get around. Once you have been there a few times, it gets easier. There are different entrances but there are signs to help you as well as staff. The top/lobby area was pretty clean. The tracks, not so much but expectations shouldn't be so high. You should definitely board earlier than what signs say because trains sometimes leave abruptly. Great place.

The 1:22 AM train to Trenton most often times does not leave on time, sometimes 15-30 mind late. So for those that leave work and want to go home via the 1:22 AM to Trenton, it gets very annoying to have to wait after a full shift. Hopefully the Station does a better job at maintaining a schedule because it's there for a reason. If there is any delays I would hope the Station starts to let the passengers know before the departure time is met. Also the trains are always filthy, the facility crew does not know how to clean, nor clean regularly. I let a conductor know and he said that due to use during the day the train gets dirty. I have to call BS for the fact that someone that works in facility maintenance the trains are NOT cleaned regularly. The dirt build up is way too much for one day even with heavy use, the backs of the seats haven't been wiped in at least 2 weeks, and the metal on the interior is definitely not cleaned at least once a week. I hope this service changes for the better, for the price compared to the path, you're just getting to and from Manhatten a little faster. But the ride is very unsanitary, and very inconsistent. Once again I honestly hope the people in charge of these two departments get to work, and make sure the trains are sanitary and punctual.

Although I was traveling through, I was fortunate to spend a few hours here while waiting for a connection. The customer service was outstanding as I had a few questions about times and connections. Although I am positive the questions I asked are a daily occurrence for staff, you could honestly tell they were genuinely concerned about finding answers for me. The staff listened. Obviously, they want to be and are TRUE New Yorkers and they want to represent NY City and NY State. In addition, there was a few great food places around. I was given a free meal at Shake Shack just by being nice (as they told me). Thanks guys. If I were to offer any suggestions, just breathe, sit back on a bench, and take time to soak in the culture and see "humans" at their best. It is quite interesting and gives you hope that we are all on the right track - no pun intended. Thanks for making my experience noteworthy and memorable.

#LetsGuide. Beautiful place both in infrastructure and in practicality. Well located and with ample space and good hygiene. Here you will find the subways to all parts of New York, and also contains clean public restroom and accessible entrance for disabled users. Very accurate and sophisticated information. And it still has comfortable seating, and is a reasonable price, but here every day is usually quite busy.

I pass through here every day. Penn Station certainly has a poor reputation, but I think it often gets portrayed as worse than reality. Pros: 1) The train service from here is unbeatable. 6 subway lines, NJ Transit, LIRR and Amtrak all stop here, making it the best train station in NYC and possibly the country to travel to/from. 2) There are so many places to eat/drink and shop that no matter how often you are here there is always something to do while waiting. 3) The location is perfect, right in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. Cons: 1) The station design is drab at best, and just plain ugly at worst. Clearly it needs a major overhaul. 2) The layout is a bit of a maze for people unfamiliar with the station, but makes sense once you get used to it. 3) The station is over capacity, and at peak times there is a line to enter/exit the station itself and every train. However, there is a brand new train hall under construction that will resolve most if not all of these issues. As of today, it's not pretty but it gets the job done!
