10.12.17 - stopped in for pho and bahn mi, both are okay to good. We ordered the regular pho, the chicken over rice, late sandwich, and grilled pork sandwich. All are good except for pork sandwich, which was just a hunk of meat in the bread. It was still tasty, but it could have been better. Free FIOS wifi.
This is my go to weekly go-to Pho shop. The broth is so good, deep and delicious. Try it veggie. Try it chicken. Their bhan-mi are amazing. All of them. The duck one. The pork one. The original ground beef one. The Budha delight vegetarian one too. I've had all their menu and I've felt happy and satisfied every time. Eat in, order out, seamless or pick up on your way to Lorimer stop. Their curry over rice is baller too. Oh get the iced lychee drink. Has real lychee in the bottom so good. I forgot to take good pictures because I was too busy stuffing my face with gloriously coated rice noodles. So here's my empty bowl. I'll go back this weekend and add a ton of the pretty ones
The service is nice, the food are delicious, and the price is fair. It's good to come here and have a hot pho during cold winter days.
Friendly staff, fresh and tasty banh mi. The iced lychee is also very good.
Friendly and effecient waitstaff. Affordable fare served quickly. I had the beef pho and found it to be the best I've found in this neighborhood. I would probably ask to order extra beef next time though, as my only complaint was the smaller portion which threw off the ratio of noodles to beef to broth. Also had a coconut bubble tea and it was delightful! Will definitely return.
Just moved a block away from Nicky’s, had their vegetarian banh mi a couple times delicious, by the way, I’m not a big tofu fan, but they cook it nice and juicy. Today I ordered the veggie pho, and was pleasantly surprised - it might one of the best vegetarian pho soups in town! And for this price... you can feed two people or spread out one pho for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Huge portion for $9. Love! Also, the staff is really nice. Great Williamsburg find!
I have a special affinity for pho. I thought the best pho was in my hometown...but Nicky’s is the best. The veggie broth is sooo good. I’ve had pho all over the city and the extremely flavorful broth, the lotus root, fresh vegetables, marinated fried tofu/seitan whatever that vegan protein is all made with love are simply the best. If you love freshly made comfort food bursting with flavor and spice—this place is your spot
The worse Vietnamese restaurant I ever been. it's not the same old Nicky restaurant I used to go. I bet it was take over by a Chinese owner which make everything worse and is nothing like Vietnamese whatsoever. So I ordered a classic sandwich which tasted so weird like they added beer I can't tell but I wish they're not and then me and my friend realized it they forgot my friend orders, after 20 minutes my friend had to stand up and tell them!!! Without any apology or respect to us as customer and we were like WOW. My friend ordered a vegan pho which shouldn't called it PHO because they substituted basil and lime, instead they added cilantro and lemon for those of you who go to any Vietnamese restaurant you know what I'm talking about!! and the soup tasted like the cup noodle soup I buy at the deli store, so salty and guess what!!! There's not a single drop of oil on the soup which make me feel like there's just water and flavor powder and other things I have to point it out there no chili sauce, fish sauce , and peanut butter sauce. Nevertheless we ordered 2 hot Vietnamese coffee and we literally saw them added hot water to fill it up, what the hell man Vietnamese coffee supposed to be strong, not watery. I hate to write a bad review but I just can't take it!!! This price for this junk and attitude. Nope, never coming back again. To the future customer if you don't believe this? Go and check it out for yourself. I know Its look so bad but it's true, they don't deserve a star from me and I hope the owner can read this.
It's nice to see a restaurant offering Vietnamese food, but I didn't feel the banh mi I got was very authentic. The sandwich was good for the most part, but I was a little disappointed, hoping for it to remind me of the many tasty banh mi I've had in southern California.
I totally fall in love with their beef Pho.
