Wow! What an absolute gem this place is. We were specifically looking for a restaurant that served swordfish and decided to try Nico’s for dinner and are so glad we did. Dinner is table service with a waiter and not like lunch which is ordered at the register which was a pleasant surprise for us. We were seated quickly on a busy Saturday night and received drinks and appetizers quickly. Everything was delicious and fresh. Our dinners came out hot and fresh as well. The swordfish dinner was incredible, I could eat it every night. The ambiance of the restaurant is great too and overlooks the water - this is more of an industrial shipping/fishing area, but we thought it was really cool to observe. They had live music playing and the staff was very attentive, friendly, and helpful. We thought the prices were good for the food you got as well. This is for sure going to be one of our go-to places in Honolulu now. We were all talking about how glad we were to have tried it. Highly recommend to everyone!
A local recommendation. Very fresh sea food, right out of dock! Large portion, the poke needs some extra soy sauce, the clam is a little bland too, the catch of the day is of big portion. Overall great but too much for us.Food: 5/5
Delicious fresh fish, steamed clams the way they should be done. Nice open marina atmosphere right by the fishing boats. The setting sun was still pretty strong so sunglasses and menus shielded us. Inside may be a better option and great live music!Food: 4/5
Simply can't offer higher praise for the staff, food, chef, etc... Four different meals and 2 appetizers all lent themselves to a glorious taste experience for our group. The place was recommended to us by a local and was he RIGHT! You just can't go wrong with your choices.Food: 5/5
Food here was fantastic! Everything we ordered was phenomenal. We had the ahi poke nachos, crab dip, Hawaiian plates and furikake ahi and everything was done to perfection. Nice laid back atmosphere with live music. We were there on a Friday night and it was table service.Food: 5/5
I am somewhat of a picky eater and I did not find that they had a very versatile menu selection. However, as you can notice by my five star rating, what I did have was absolutely delicious. I had a salad which was spring mix, feta cheese, red onion, cherry tomato, and papaya seed dressing. Normally they put salmon on top of it, but I don’t care for salmon- I asked them to switch the salmon for a crabcake and they were happy to do it and it was absolutely delicious. My friend ordered the one with the salmon and you can see that picture and my other friend ordered The ahi which he really enjoyed!
We had the loco moco, ahi steak, shrimp scampi pasta, and poke from the fish market. Most edible was the pasta and the poke in my opinion. Loco moco from cheesecake factory was 10 times better than here. The ahi steak was just...dry. Be aware that their poke is just the base + heavily marinated fish. I was surprised since I was used to poke with many topping options but this place is not one of those. And the shrimp pasta is delicious but painfully small portions for the price $19. Its an open air restaurant so there is no AC, plenty of flies. Their live music would've been enjoyable if I wasn't sweating my face off. Workers were helpful and friendly. Personally, I would not go back.
Solid little Hawaiian plate lunch spot. It's right near the docks and has great views of the boats and ocean. Quick service with a walk up and order system. Food was great and has been consistent through the years. I had both chicken katsu and bbq chicken and it was delicious.Food: 5/5
The food is ok, poke is fresh, the crab is pretty well seasoned, salads are fresh, but the seasoning can be a tad bland. The great drinks, atmosphere, live music, friendly service, and free parking are really what send this place to a 5 star rating. Kid-friendliness: I wouldn’t get a kids meal, it’s not really a deal and the food wasn’t something he’d even eat. Just boiled pasta. He ended up eating my food!
This is a must-visit place. The food tastes great! The kids enjoyed the pizza. The manager, Bear, was friendly and helpful. They also offer lettuce-wrapped burgers!Food: 5/5
