My girlfriend and I made the huge mistake of taking the NJ Transit airlink via the North Jersey Coast line from the shore. What a rip off. First off, the double decker trains look cool, but the design is awful. First off, there's no place to put luggage, so you're crammed into your seat with all of your stuff. Horrible. And at night, you have to deal with terrible, over bright, ugly florescent lighting. Why not dim the lights. And the cost for such a short trip is completely out of control. Round trip for 2 was more than $70. You can do the same thing in Europe and travel ten times as far for the same price. Avoid this crap. It's a waste of your time and money. Oh, and I forgot to mention the inconvenience of having one leg of the trip end in Long Branch. If you're returning home from the north, your stuck at an ugly station, with a long wait for your connecting train south. Or, you can spend $$$ for a taxi. Worst commute ever.
