Check out Noah's for some great Italian food and pizza! I love their old school decor and style takes you back. When waiting for a seat you can watch the pizza crust being hand made. So we definitely had to try a pizza and we were so impressed with the pizza's crust. It was so crispy and loaded with toppings. Their red sauce is soo fantastic!! The appetizers we choose were cheese sticks and raviolis, both were house made and so delicious. I highly recommend 10/10
It's been a while since my husband and I have ate here. The waitress was amazing. She was very attentive and made sure our meals were as we asked. My husband wanted cheesecake but they were out, so that bummed him out. Otherwise our overall experience was amazing and will return soon!
Staffing is on point. Very friendly and always quick with the refills! If you love pasta, you'll love Noah's Ark! We had the Ravioli baked, garlic cheese bread and a house salad. All excellent food, hot and in no time at all! Oh and their lemon cake is to die for!Dine in: YesTakeout: YesDelivery: No
Outstanding! This is the best restaurant we have ever ventured to in Des Moines. The crab cakes were fresh, the sauces were homemade, the music and service were great, the pasta was fresh, and the cakes were exquisite. Thank you!
If you want solid, authentic Italian comfort food, this is the place to go in Des Moines. Our first meal there 42 years ago was excellent, and it hasn't changed in quality or value since! The pizza is thin crust with great toppings and the lasagna is a wonderful casserole style dish. Highly recommend the creamy Italian dressing for your salad
First time. It was fine- not sure about all the hype around the historic eatery. Lots of old time regulars and friends that are frequent fliers. Tall tales and lots of swearing. So not my ideal dinner ambiance. The food was good- supper club style.
Food was completely unimpressive at best. Their antipasto was comprised of some dried out carrot sticks that looked like they were swept off the floor, and a few other barely passable ingredients. The pasta was overcooked and mushy, and the marinara was bland. I honestly don't see how anyone with a sensible pallette would give this place anything higher than 3 stars. The lunch for 2, including a bottle of wine, "appetizer", 2 pasta dishes, dessert, and tip was just shy of $100. I don't ever see myself again stepping foot in this relic of times past, when they might have actually been considered good.
I'm giving 4 stars because our server Jenny was accommodating and apologetic and James Lacona made it right as an owner. It was my 49th Birthday dinner and Mother's day weekend, icetea and water had no ice, plus my other half got up and refilled our iced teas. As our waitress was only 5 days new into her job and had tables in the front and back of restaurant. Onion rings were delicious and so was our salads. The blue cheese dressing is my absolute favorite there! The 2 gentleman at our table, their meals were fantastic. My surf and turf, the lobster was delicious, but the 6oz filet had serious issues, it was super rare, I asked for medium and even Jenny agreed it was still mooing or even out in the field lol. She took it back to the kitchen, the kitchen gave me another rare steak. And baked potato was cold, as the reason the butter wasn't melted. My entire meal was taken off my bill, my Mom's rigatoni and meatballs ... was also removed off the bill, pasta was crunchy, and sauce was sitting over pasta too long and didn't taste like it should. I will add photos, but I'll also be back, as I will request Jenny again as a waitress.
I've been going to Noah's Ark almost all of my life, it is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always good and the service typically matches it. My personal favorites are the Cavatelli and Ravioli, try the 1/2 and 1/2 plate but have them make it en casserole!
I liked the old school ambiance. Service was pretty good. The food, though, was nothing at all memorable and I really hate to say that. Dinner side salad is lettuce only, and partially wilty at that. I ordered a $33 steak and the salad is lettuce. Cmon, that's pathetic. They do not have ranch dressing. None. How bizarre. The steak was cooked as I requested med rare but the sauce they put on it was not very good and very salty. I strongly suggest asking they put that to the side. A good steak shouldn't need sauce on it. As it was, the steak was okay after I scraped the sauce off, but only okay. Pricey for an "okay" steak. Service was good and prompt. They need Gordon Ramsey. Toasted ravioli was gross. Cavatelli looked... like it was out of a microwave, but I didn't taste it so can't say. Give it a try but don't expect much.
