Hate to leave a bad review for them, their food is fantastic, but I don't know if they're open or closed or even still in business. Nobody answers a phone, haven't seen them in a long time... just assuming they're gone. Even when I could contact them last year, they were hard to get ahold of, so either they're going downhill or are doing so well they don't have to bother dealing with customers.
Some of the best barbecue I've had in the city. Had a brisket and hot link sandwich. The brisket was super tender with just the right amount of smoke flavor to it not too smokey, not too bland. The hot-link had a good amount of spice to it as well. The sauce they have is really good too, but the meat doesn't really need it to be honest. The bun that they give with it is also good, it's basically an 8 inch roll as opposed to a burger bun. The only complaint I could have is that the roll wasn't cut when we got it, but since we were taking it home, that really wasn't an issue. Looking forward to trying their other meats. Think I just found my new bbq spot.
Wow so far so good I just ordered a pound of the brisket I pounded that pulled pork. And now I'm eating a sampled sausage link so far so good I'm digging this
As we were placing our order a man who was leaving said this was the best barbecue in town owner or relative maybe?. He was right! Ribs are fantastic, pulled pork is Smokey and delicious, and our side of corn fresh and flavorful.
It was our first order from Nomad's and was unfortunately mediocre. We ordered and picked up 4 sandwich plates, none of which came with bread? The order was incorrect and the Special was only pulled pork, no link sausage. We had missing or substituted sides without any notice. A positive was the brisket. It was very good. The pulled pork was pretty good. The included sauce was tasty. We tried calling the store multiple times to correct it, but could not get ahold of them; it went straight to voicemail. It was our first time ordering, not sure we will try again.
Disappointed with the brisket suspicious cut of meat. Expected sliced Austin style BBQ. The so-called “brisket” was chopped up into a pile, full of grease, pieces of gristle, and had very little BBQ flavor. Tasted more like oven pot roast. The sides of corn and beans also had no flavor and tasted like they were out of a can.
The proprietor of Nomads is an exceptional person with a great wit and love for BBQ. He had blown through everything for the holidays but had some brisket left. Very good, high quality with the fat rendered perfectly into the meat. Give him a try, he will take care of you.
Hands down the best smoked meat in ABQ! They catered my wedding with halal meats for my Muslim family. The whole family STILL talks about the food with awe. They're all a great bunch and Theo is one of my favorite people. We love them so much. Couldn't recommend them more!
Just happened across this bbq place. I got a smoked brisket sandwich. They put a pile of meat in a dish, put the bread separate and the BBQ sauce separate too. All that was perfect as I was driving 10 minutes down the road to a brewery. I was worried it would be soggy by the time I got to eat it but was surprised to see how they kept it all sperate! It was delicious! The BBQ sauce is some of the best and the bread roll was soft and the meat was super tender and tasty! Definitely pick some up if you get the chance!
Ordered through grubhub. We Ordered one special sandwich and one brisket sandwich plate. We got one special sandwich and one pulled pork, not brisket. They also did not include BBQ sauce. Just dry meat and bread, not even the correct meat on one of them.
