I was so good for dinner I came back the next day for lunch as I was walking by. Today grilled sardines again, debase and half bottle wine. Amazing food and price. This is a real mom and pop seconds to Porto waterfront yet reasonably non tourist price. Cheap by American standard
Casual restaurant and bar. Found the atmosphere to be relaxed and family friendly. The food was delicious and in my opinion, well priced. Staff were friendly and courteous.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: Yes
Great jambalaya! Kids didn’t like the mac & cheese because it was made from scratch conclusion? Need to try real Mac abs cheese more often!
Excellent food, decent choice of beers, and the service was great. It was noisy - the acoustics were horrible - I had to speak loudly to be heard by the others at our table, but it was a clean and stylish place.Food: 5/5
Boy Oh Boy Their food was delicious. They were very friendly and attentive. The food was seasoned to perfection The lemonade was a Perfect Blend‼
Ordered a large pizza to go and a couple salads. I'm wondering if this large is really a large? It's almost comically undersized for the size of the box. At $23.00 for a large 3 topping, we were expecting an actual large. Tasted fine but... really? That's a large? You be the judge...Food: 3/5
I visited the restaurant in Bethesda after having many good experiences in their Virginia locations. I proudly brought my family with me. Unfortunately I had the worst dinner experience in a long time. The purpose of the visit was a family Christmas celebration. The service was okay, but the food not so good. I ordered a Smokey Joe Burger and asked to have it cooked medium. I got a cold burnt piece of meat on my burguer. This was NOT YOUR AVERAGE BURGUER, but the WORST BURGER I ever had. I showed the burguer to the server and he clearly saw that the patty was “well done and burnt”. They offered to replace the burger but I told them that I didn’t want to wait and then ruin the experience of sharing a Christmas meal with my family. I really regret choosing this restaurant for an important family event, my advice is to avoid this place at all cost. They don’t care if you had a happy experience. To my surprise I was charged in full for the burnt burguer. When asked the server about this, he told that it against company policy to make any credits. REALLY ? Company policy ? If you go to a place where customer satisfaction is not a top priority, then you went to the wrong place. This “ JOE” and its manager is way below the average of the worst restaurant in town. This neighborhood has plenty of good restaurants around …. Avoid this one! You will thank me for this.
We came in with reservations, and the nicest hostess with super short red hair jumped in to help get us seated, she had found our reservation, and almost had a table for us when her colleague came back, immediately lost our reservation, and kept us waiting for an additional 6 minutes before she could find us a table. BUT, maybe that wait got us the best server/server's assistant team in the restaurant! Our server was Brennan, and while our server's assistant's name escapes me, he was cheerful and efficient, and we left feeling that we had eaten well, and were well taken care of.
I got the fish and chips. It was two medium sized pieces of fish on top of a giant bed of shoestring fries. Neither the volume nor quality I would expect for $21 but maybe then again maybe that's just slightly upscale dining which is not for me. The fish was okay, crispy, flaky, and soft. But the fries were like stale McDonald's fries - cold, dry, and slightly hard... not worth it. Most things on the menu are too expensive for me to even consider trying. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free menu
A establishment near where I work, I've come here several times over the past year for work happy hours and lunches. It's definitely a fine spot for such - they have a wide ranging menu and a lot of physical space in their Bethesda location. However, the food and atmosphere is truly quite... average. Everything I tasted was generally fine, especially the standard bar-fare appetizers, burgers, and even some of the pasta dishes I have had. I had a Chicken Caprese Sandwich the other day that left me quite disappointed, but probably on me for getting something outside of the standard bar realm. Overall a solid experience for large groups looking for a wide-range of standard options. But in the DMV, where there are so many great options from around the world, this place is truly your average joe.
