This place is a hidden gem!! Went on a search for fresh almond croissant on a Sunday morning and found it. I guess the kitchen/bakery section is the lower ground level and the ground level is the cafe and sitting area. It is a tiny place and clean one too! Had chocolate almond croissant as they were out of almond croissant. Yummy! Could not resist seeing the MAC bar and got a couple macaroons. Recommended this place when you are strolling downtown PDX on a weekend. Ambience - 5/5 Coffee - 4.5/5 Croissants - 5/5
Walking in here was such a luxurious pastry experience. The cafe is small with very limited seating, but if you're able to get there at a quiet time it's absolutely a lovely place to wind down for a bit with probably the best quality pastry I've ever had in the PNW.Food: 5/5
Whoa. Best specialty croissants I’ve had in Portland. The rose pistachio was quite sweet, but delicious regardless. You can taste the rose and pistachio flavor, but also some cardamom?. Traditional croissant was also solid.
This place is much smaller than what I thought based on the pictures and it’s mostly for take out. The croissant and blueberry danish were delicious. There were only few options to choose from since they were out of most pastries. Coffee was okRecommended dishesChocolate Croissant, Berry Danish
Great spot for croissants and macarons. The croissants are the best in the city - perfectly flaky with a soft and open crumb inside. Not sure if they do dine in not many chairs/stools around but great spot for grabbing coffee on the go. Can’t wait to try their pistachio and everything croissants!
Update Oct 2021: Back in Portland and got a classic croissant at my favorite bakery. The store presentation is different from the time when I lived in Portland but the croissant is still delicious, although not as amazing as I remembered... Original Feb 2021: Absolutely one of the best pastry shops in Portland. The taste, the texture, the presentation, are all top notch. You gotta try their rose pistachio croissant, it's beyond the world delicious with flaky croissant layers and intriguingly flavorful sweet fillings. It becomes my routine to try something new every time I come here, twice baked chocolate croissant, creme filled chocolate brioche, savory croissants, blueberry muffin, cinnamon roll, everything I had was good and often great. One thing to keep in mind, they don't always have everything available everyday, even the basic croissants, but they seem to like trying new things, so…surprise yourself.
To be honest, Vanila Canele was great I love it, but barista there was not friendly, and the coffee was awful. I understand that they are known for pastries. But White Chocolate Rose was too sour, as well as Americano. I am a Barista for 3 years, but I cannot imagine making this sour coffee, even Mocha.Food: 3/5
the croissant tasted really differently the inside is softer and more buttery i even feel like brioche chocolate croissant was flaky outside and a bit of toasty smell which i loved really much the staff recommended me the rose croissant and it’s definitely delicious covered by earl grey icing the bread added a hit of rose flavor which is really impressing
Incredible pastries and creative hot drinks. Of course the croissants are amazing but my other favorites are the cornmeal blueberry muffin and the chocolate walnut cookie. I’ve joined pastry club a few times too and love getting boxes of treats each week. Thanks for all you do!
I think this croissant is the best in Portland. I try them everywhere; I am always on the hunt for the perfect flaky buttery boye. Nuvrei fashions some of the best I’ve ever had. Better than some I had in France. I romanticize croissants. I can make them myself, though nowhere close to this standard. It is an art. These croissants are art.
