Some of the best food I've had in my entire life. It was strange at first because no one was up front remember to ring the bell by the register and I'm not used to places with no written menu, but the staff was nice and kind, and the food made me feel like I was right at home. Highly recommend.Food: 5/5
Great experience at a event for a family. Chester, the owner, did from soup to nuts. Decorating was on point very festive but so tasteful, getting the DJ Larry who was awesome, and providing the meal. The staff was very engaging without being intrusive and pleasant. The food was so good and plentiful. No one left empty handed unless they wanted to. The only downside was the parking and everyone found parking even if it was a little walk to the venue. This place is a must for good vibes and great food.
The Owner was super nice, friendly and engaging. We attended a private party there, the food and music were excellent. Some of the staff didn't seem to want to serve us so we had to keep asking my Friend who booked and paid for the party! as well as the owner who was probably exhausted from all his hard work. Ooh and the Mauby probably wrong spelling was superb! All in all restaurant has a great vibe! We will return
This was my first time there, and I was greeted by one of the owners of the place, who suggested that I get a sampler some of everything on offer to which I gladly obliged. Very warm, friendly people, family-owned vibes which I love. The food nailed it on the head too - and I know I tried an array of things including the Curry Chicken, Ribs, Braised Beef and the Jerk Chicken. Apparently they are planning to host music on Thursday evenings... I'm gonna have to return for another round of food - and would need no convincing .
We wandered into this simple establishment after seeing a show at The Strand. Chester, our waiter the owner?, took amazing care of us, preparing a Caribbean feast with all the fresh food of the evening, including curry goat, stewed beef, 3 kinds of rice, cabbage, mac and cheese. Comfort food meets island spices -- yum! Best of all, after we had paid he presented us with a fresh baked loaf of pistachio sweet bead, which we gobbled as we walked back to our car. The portions were huge, the prices reasonable, and the ambiance reflected the warm simplicity of a Caribbean island.
Amazing. Oasis truly is an oasis of delicious food and incredible hospitality. Due to yesterday's impending snow storm the restaurant was closed BUT Chester, the owner, contacted me and asked if we would like to keep our lunch reservation and he would prepare a complementary meal for us to enjoy in the closed restaurant. Only a special person would go to such great lengths to ensure we enjoyed a fabulous meal. The six different dishes were all excellent. Will definitely return with many friends. Thank you.
My daughter and I came giggling into Oasis with no idea or expectation of what Caribbean food is. We had a wonderful time! Chester graciously, patiently and with good humor described all the mouthwatering dishes. We didn't know what to order, it all looked so good. He said, "Let me take care of it for you. I will put two plates together of all different things for you to try! " Shortly, he brought over the promised two plates piled with absolutely delicious food. Oh My! We had a wonderful time tasting everything and trying to decide which we liked best. The atmosphere was welcoming and lowkey and fun. Chester was delightful. We felt like cherished guests of a host who wantS us to experience and enjoy everything. I would give Oasis more stars if I could. Thank you!
Thank you, Chester for an amazing experience. We had curried chicken and rice, coconut brussel sprouts and vegetables in a clear butter and tumeric sauce. The music was crackling and Chester's smile and kindness was booming. Please donate money to this establishment who feed many of the homeless. This place rocks!
The food and price was wonderful they give you abundance of food it was cooked very well and the lady who waited on me was extremely friendly and great customer service skills which is a plus. My buddy richie turned me on to this spot and I was quite pleased when he called asked if I wanted something to eat and he got me a plate yummy in my tummy. I definitely recommend you run down there food is worth it. I'm a foodie and people ask me where to go and I got a plate of food for my mother and she's even picker than myself she exactly enjoy their chicken dish. Yes there's a but I did go back the next week but the lobster yes lobstah as we say in Boston was not available and I love my seafood here in New England was not available my only suggestion to this restaurant or any other would be to have the days they serve seafood because that happened at another restaurant last week and I so much wanted to try the lobstah. Definitely great place to get some great west indies food. I hope to try something different next time I go.
