Oh My Cod

Good, fresh fried cod, very crispy and tasty esp. with the spicy mayo and malt vinegar. The baked beans were quite tasty, however the chips were way over fried!! Cole slaw was just so-so. Nice and clean, very casual. Also it offers out door dining. Just order, pay and the owners kids bring out the food. It doesn't seem to have a real wait staff. $17.50 for large order (2 pieces of cod ) and chips. A little pricey, but I would go back.

I was WOWed by this restaurant! The restaurant is a small order at the counter setting, very casual but the food is incredible. We had the fish and chips platter which came with two dipping sauces (tartar and spicy mayo) as well as mashed peas. The mashed peas were so delicious and the dipping sauces were mind blowing. The prices were fair. Honestly this place was a far better dining experience than anything I have ever had in England. I will definitely be coming back for more!!

Fish and Chips is one of my favorite foods. I don't usually get it unless I'm near the shore. But this place was so delicious. The cod was tender as could be, literally falling apart. The batter was a deep rich amber color with proper crunch. And the fries were some of the best I've ever had (I eat a lot of fries) The yam chips were so tender and sweet and they leave the skin on which makes for a nice chewy exterior. I've never had mushy peas before, so I have nothing to compare them to, but it was delicious. The service was VERY friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was truly adorable! Pricy, but worth it for sure. I'd definitely go back. Even my kids liked it and they don't really eat fish. All around lovely experience!

We hadn't planned on going here. Every place in Montclair was packed on a Saturday night. We were walking down Walnut St and I remembered a few friends had said great things. Well, we are so glad every place was packed because we ended up here and the fish and chips were excellent! Very casual place that leaves you satisfied. Large portions and excellent prices. We will be back!

Very cool place! Great fresh fish. A little pricey, but worth it! Good size portions. Everthing is homemade!
