Reviews
I would like to leave a review of this school because I have apparently lost the battle in letting it go and turning the other check. I applied for my son to go to this school and then was given a meeting to discuss everything. We went to the meeting and there were two principals or deans there asking us questions. They ask about our involvement in church and other basic questions. I told them that we weren't involved in church very much but were interested in attending. Part of the reason that I wanted my son to go to this school was the requirement for the family to be part of the child's life in school. This also would appear to me to create an environment where we would be part of a church and would overall improve the family as a whole. Anyways, they kept saying how they weren't hearing enough of the word "church" or "Jesus" in our responses. It seemed that because of our lack of church involvement, we didn't fit their standards. They also said their school was geared on a "college based" learning environment and the fact that my son was on a 504, he would be in a situation where he wouldn't be able to keep up and would be left behind. This was two years ago but I do remember their website mentioning how they have teachers that specialize in special education. I was so disgusted with their pretentious behavior. I quickly sent a letter the day after the interview basically informing them that I don't want my son to be a part of an organization that conducts themselves in a manner like they did. Three days after I sent the letter, I received their version of a rejection letter. I can't find the letter but it mentioned Jesus and how they hope for the best for us. I guess this is the beauty of being a private entity, but wow can you imagine Jesus wanting to be included in a rejection letter for a school being taught in his name. My conspiracy version of what happened is: we weren't part of a long standing Enid clique or I wasn't wearing a flight suit. I'm from Enid and only left for 10 years while on active duty in the USAF. I guess my son will never be a part of their esoteric curriculum that appears to be ordained by Jesus himself. So in conclusion, if you're not part of the clique or you don't own a flight suit, it may be a good idea to pass on the whole process and maybe try homeschooling.

If you love your children don't let them ride this school's buses. I drive a semi truck and had bus 9 cut me off approaching a red light in heavy rain effectively cutting my stopping distance in half. Luckily for your children I am a local driver and know the road conditions and had planned for extra space. You may not be so lucky with an out of town driver.

Our family is so very thankful for the OBA Community. Our kids thrive there and we are excited to see what God has in store for the future of the school as we all grow together.

I have two sons who have attended OBA. One is now a sophomore in an Ivy League school, and the other son is currently a sophomore at OBA. To experience being a part of the OBA community is to experience the love of Christ in an academic environment. The school is measurably the strongest in academic rigor and performance in its region, whether public or private. The atmosphere is inviting, secure and stable. I can recommend this school without reservation or hesitation. Schedule a tour; you will be happy you did!
