I am a current employee of the Goddard School on Western, going on two years now. After reading a previous post made by a disgruntled former employee, I felt compelled to share my own experience. As someone who has worked in numerous childcare facilities over the course of six years, I would have to say that this journey has been not only my most cherished, but welcoming of all. Not only is it the most aesthetically pleasing center I have spent time in, the employees are also the best I have yet to encounter. The teachers who have worked alongside me throughout the course of my time at Goddard have worked endlessly to cater to the needs of our children, which included proper and prompt communication with management. I will agree that, with every career, there are times where we could each offer a little more or take a step back in certain situations, and mistakes and miscommunication will occur. However, with that being said, I fully believe and stand by the fact that Goddard as a whole aims to foster a community style and inclusively informed environment. I have loved my time, coworkers, and managers, as well as my children. Together, they make each day feel a little less like a job and more like a home away from home. I would fully recommend employment to anyone looking, and would most definitely trust my children in their hands!

5 of my children have gone here (2 currently enrolled), and the experience we’ve had has been nothing short of spectacular. The kids make friends, have a great time, love all of their instructors, and we’re pleasantly surprised at how much they learn each week. You simply can’t go wrong with this place. The care that the children receive is absolutely fantastic, and everyone here is wonderful to deal with. My twins will be next to go through daycare, and you’d better believe that this is the ONLY place that we’ll be trusting with them!

I dropped my child at his new school this morning. Although I thought the saddest part would be dropping him off it wasn’t. The saddest part was describing to the teachers the experience that he had at his last daycare that emotionally traumatized him during potty situations. It is now almost two months later and I still have to console my son when he's going #2 on the potty. During his stint at Goddard on Western, a teacher not once but twice shamed/made my son feel bad about potty accidents.
Now don’t get me wrong I know potty training can be difficult for most children, but my son was to the point that he would go #2 on a boat in the middle of the lake while wearing a life jacket. That was until the management at Goddard decided to put an inexperienced individual into a 2 year old and not require/give her the appropriate training. After the first time this teacher made vomit noises, expressed complete disgust and laughed hysterically while cleaning up my child’s accident, the management at Goddard decided to give her another chance. It wasn’t even a week later that another incident occurred. Andrea thought that it was a teachable moment and that the teacher should remain in the room. That teacher is no longer in the room but it wasn’t until I witnessed her pulling a child’s arm that she was removed. And as far as I know she still works there.
Now I understand that even in controlled environments things can happen. We were at Goddard for 2 years and my son has been bitten over 25 times, busted lip twice, bloodied nose, and a black eye just to mention a few. The black eye incident actually scarred and one of the busted lips included a shelf falling on him. Being a single parent you have to just believe in the support around you and most people would just say……oh things happen to little boys because they are so active. But at some point you have to ask yourself how controlled the environment is?
Goddard on Western, the management and a couple of teachers have scarred my child emotionally and physically. It was my mistake to not pull him out of there sooner and for that I take fault. I have never written a review for really anything before, but parents have to be aware that this “premium” daycare in Edmond should not have the reputation it has until management changes.
PS – I know of 2 DHS investigations that are currently active
PSS – In the last 6 months, his room has had over 6 new teachers.
Check out the DHS Daycare Records - 4 complaints in less than a year.

I have been employed here at the Goddard on Western for quite some time now and can honestly say that this facility is one of the best places I have ever worked. The management and staff are all extremely welcoming and genuine to all employees and ensure the comfort of everyone to make sure everyone is happy to come in to work every day. Working at Goddard is a very rigorous and challenging experience and the management makes sure that all employees are adequately equipped with the skills they need to maintain the development and safety of the children. Prior to ever stepping foot into a classroom, employees undergo countless hours of training via webinars and various activities. After that, they are placed into various classrooms to determine the age group they are most comfortable in. After all the initial training, however, employees are required to undergo even more training year by year. On top of the required training, incentives are given for additional hours of training as well. Needless to say, there is no such thing as "inexperienced" employees at this facility. I am confident in my ability to give the children everything they need because of the active involvement and understanding of the management. Everyday we are challenged to teach more and work harder to uphold the integrity of this facility.

My husband and I have been so impressed with Goddard of Edmond. We’ve been searching for a while for our two sons to find a facility that isn’t a babysitting service, but can offer curriculum at an early age. We feel Goddard does this so successfully. The boys come home excited about learning. Plus... Fall Fest! Wow! It takes amazing management to pull together
