Old Town Trolley and DC Duck Tours

We booked the 2 day tour. It was really easy and convenient to hop on and off the trolley. They came by the stops pretty regular. The drivers were friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend doing the tour.

We spent almost $150 for three tickets and only were able to get on the bus for two stops. The bus came every 30 minutes and was full each time. We used the trolley to get into Arlington National Cemetery. The driver was friendly. However, with the infrequent buses and being full each time, we had to stop trying to use the trolley. We ended up having to UBER out of the cemetery and didn't use the trolley again. I called customer service while waiting for a bus and was treated very rudely.

The drivers are knowledgeable and professional. They have a smile for everyone and are willing to help anyone with questions. Sunny was a funny, friendly and helpful driver. Thank goodness for all of them.

We chose this tour because they offered the only Arlington Cemetery access. They dropped us off outside the front of the memorial and emphasized that we had to be inside for the pickup. They didn’t tell us where or what vehicle to look for and importantly that the vehicle we needed looked different than the others we’d been on so far. After walking through Arlington, we couldn’t find the return tour bus. We tried hard. We could see that our company’s tour bus was empty at the entrance which was reassuring! We exited Arlington and asked the outside tour driver for help. She pointed for us to go back in which meant going through security again. Then she rapidly drove off without further explanation. We had no inside tour and learned later (after walking across the Potomac from the cemetery to the Lincoln memorial) from another stranded customer that there was a special vehicle in the cemetery. It was not clearly marked and did not look the same as the other tour vehicles. She knew this because she’d printed out her tickets and there was a picture of the special Arlington trolley on them. We think maybe this is how we could have gotten back on the tour without a mile hike in high wind over the river. Unfortunately the helpful lady never made it to Arlington herself. She and her group had been passed off all day at other stops when the hop on option was not possible because every bus was full. She’d missed the reasonable last tour pick up according to the special Arlington driver. Oddly he took a group to the cemetery anyway so maybe those people were ultimately stuck too. On the 25 stop hop on hop off tour, there were too many people and not enough seats at each and every stop. People at stops were angry. Drivers placated but no real solution “there’s someone coming just behind me” over and over again. There is no way we could have actually gotten off and back on 25 times. By the last pick up at the end of the day, our driver left our bus, saying he had to work the night shift and needed a break. His replacement driver was running late to take over. We were left alone on the bus. Once the replacement arrived, he had trouble starting the bus then the door got stuck. It was a bad situation and clear that riders weren’t happy. There were no attempts to offer amends. Can’t get in touch with them for the money back guarantee. Take the red hop on/off busses. We longed to be on them...regret trying to save $10 by buying this tour.

Amazing experience, loved the facts we heard! Safe driving and very patient with the crowds despite the craziness. Highly recommended!
