Places shown and many of the descriptions were excellent. It was a rainy day so there were few people sitting outside. There were too many leaks and too much water running inside the bus. All customer service personnel were nice, friendly and polite. Our narrator was insightful and well spoken. She often spoke too fast and early in the tour she lacked composure and maturity. After a guest asked her to speak a little more slowly, she got it together. Overall, it was just ok.

We only had one day in DC, and this company allowed us to see the entire city within our time constraints. We noted how most of the tour guides were less than adequate, until we met Steve. I highly encourage you to locate Bus 3, so you can enjoy Steve's vast knowledge of the city and its history, as well as his genuine interest in meeting those on the tour and hearing their stories. Keep up the great work, Steve!

DO NOT use this company!!! After spending a day walking all over DC with a complaining 8,10, and 12 year old, we decided to book a hop on/off bus tour. We checked DC Trails’ website to make sure they would be operating and available for the next two days of our trip and purchased five 48 hour passes for our family, which we found discounted on Groupon. This included the night tour. After purchasing the tickets, we called the company to confirm pick up location and parking. We were told they would be CLOSED and not operating that Sunday despite their website stating they were open. Additionally, they had no space on their night tour. This was extremely frustrating. Once we arrived in DC, we boarded the bus, visited one site, then we spent over ONE HOUR waiting for a bus to pick us up before finally giving up and walking to our next location. Using their app, we could see all their buses were on the opposite side of DC and were lined up back to back. We saw bus after bus from multiple other hop on/off tours pass by and pick up/drop off visitors, so the delay was clearly not happening to other tour companies. When we finally got a bus to go back to our car, the bus made what they referred to as “courtesy stops” that were not on the listed tour but were announced (not requested by specific passengers). Maybe this, along with poor management, got them so off schedule. Regardless, our experience with DC Trails was completely disappointing. I think a hop on/off tour is a great way to see the sites with kids, but I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. Choose any of the other top rated tours on all the travel websites.

DC trails hop on and hop bus tour was had pros and cons. The tour guides had varying degrees of knowledge. We rode 3 different buses during our day. The first 2 were good and on time. We used the DC trails app to find out our wait time at our stop. The 3rd one was less than timely. The app stated 14 minutes 38 seconds until the bus would arrive. It took over 40 minutes to get to our stop. The guide was nice but made inappropriate jokes in front of my grandchildren. The driver and ticket taker were less than friendly and professional. I feel that I spent quite a bit of money on the 7 tickets purchased and I felt the length of time waiting at the bus stop was excessive and the crew was less than professional. The old town trolley came by our stops more frequently. The next time I am in DC I will try another company.

Very friendly staff and informative tour. We actually did one whole loop before deciding on a stop. It was nice to see all the sites without having to walk around. There was a tour guide on board giving facts the whole trip.
