Greyhound: Bus Station

A truly historic place and the feeling and smell inside is unique. There is a large food court down, but is preoccupied with people who are not waiting on the bus or train. So don't be afraid or panic, if you can afford to help or buy a meal, it will be a good deed, if you cant afford then be polite and don't waist their or your time by explaining yourself. Just be polite. Homeless people are all around DC, and there are many charity organizations around the Station at certain times. Also there is a good amount of police presence to keep things calm and polite. The Bus station is Up and trains are in the middle. There is plenty of shops just don't know why some of them are even there. If you need to drop off or pick up someone, don't stand and wait, just go around the roundabout. and then pickup and drive. Keep the traffic flow.

Steer Clear of Greyhound and take any other alternative! Terrible service rarely are the buses ever on time or they don’t show up. Don’t waist your time and pay a little more for better service and on time departure. I purchased a non refundable ticket for a 7:30Am departure to New York after waiting 30 minutes in line I was told that the bus would not arrive and that the next bus out wouldn't be unitl 1:30PM. Absolutely Ridiculous and very unprofessional for such a known bus business.

I would give 0 stars is I could. WORST BUS COMPANY I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED! My departure and return trip were both terrible. First bus supposed to leave at 9:40pm I didn’t leave til 2am!!!! (Insert a bunch of BS, hours delayed, nobody working at GW station to ask for help, bus leaving at wrong time, messy transfers to another station, rude employees, misinformed and uninformed employees, drivers refusing to drive...etc). Finally got on the bus with a driver, who I’m sure wasn’t supposed to be our original driver, only for him to start DOZING OFF half way through the trip. Thank God for the ridges in the road that woke him up and saved us from an even worst nightmare. Drivers name was Vincent and he was very rude. Made a stop in Baltimore that was not supposed to happen. No help with bags of any sort. ALL BAD! So bad I didn’t want to return home inn greyhound but I had no choice seeing as they wouldn’t refund my money for a trip I hadn’t taken yet. Fast forward to my return trip....currently waiting for a bus that was supposed to leave at 4:45pm. It’s 6:05pm and nobody knows where our bus is. First they said it would be 10min, then they said they were gettin it cleaned, them there was no bus, now we are waiting without any information or updates. And they act like they’re annoyed when you ask them simple questions about your trip. I haven’t even gotten on the bus for return and I wish I could give greyhound -100 stars. I will update when it gets worst cause I’m sure it will at this point. DO NOT RIDE GREYHOUND! Stick to Megabus and Bolt .

Terrible bus service and absolutely no customer service from the staff. We booked tickets in advance but there was over 30min delay on our journey. Nobody bothered to make any announcements and when we asked the staff for any information they just laughed and said we can get a refund if we have a problem. The bus driver eventually appeared and acted like nothing happened so it only shows this might be a usual behaviour for Greyhound. We also used Greyhound a few days later as we didn't really have any other option and guess what, the coach never arrived, we were told to wait for the next scheduled one. Unbelievable!

很壮观的综合火车和汽车站，整个建筑非常辉煌，也是一个首都的景点！灰狗巴士需要跟着牌子找Buses，比较绕路。 It's a spectacular comprehensive train and bus station. The building is very splendid and a capital attraction!
