Absolutely awful policies and poor customer services. The mobile site was not working well, and my email would not suffice to link me to the account when purchasing. When I saw I was in C group after purchase I contacted them right away about the error. They were unwilling to help me out and move me to the A group. Wouldn't even allow me to just rebook the ticket to a different time so that the new ticket issued could be the right group. The customer service representative was very patronizing, which made the whole situation even more infuriating. You are much better off taking Washington Deluxe where you can cancel the ticket and apply the funds to rebook for a new fare or with Mega Bus where you can select upgraded seats while booking if available. Definitely not worth a cheaper fare to go here, pay $5 more to use a different bus company.

Booked the trip from Washington to New Yor for Sunday 9.30 am. Bus departed 20 minutes late on a Sunday, so no excuse for busy traffic. The website did not provide the option to reserve specific seats, which resulted in my partner and I being separated if it wasn't for a kind gentleman who offered his seat. Power outlet (despite advertised as a plus) didn't work, which is very annoying if you want to watch movies and still need a full battery to explore the destination city. Only high light was the bus driver, who had great communication and driving skills.
All in all not impressed with the company and won't use them again.

Can be confusing to get to, but the mini waiting area is temperature controlled.

I've taken the Newark-DC route numerous times and the buses are almost always late to depart and arrive. The buses themselves are sometimes nice, sometimes falling apart. There's also a very long detour and stop in Baltimore that is quite inconvenient

It's nice to have the bus as a transportation option between NYC and D.C., however, the new location at 11th Avenue in Manhattan is quite the walk from Penn Station - a major transit area which also served as Bolt Bus' original location. The walk from Penn to the Bolt stop on W.36th and 11th takes 30 minutes at a steady pace!
One of the bus drivers was 5 minutes late to arrival, therefore, passengers didn't board until 10-15 minutes after the scheduled departure! This put the travel back 15 minutes in addition to another 10 minutes, wherein the driver just stood outside after all passengers were in their seats and then he decided to use the bathroom. So, my travel to D.C. Was set back at least 30 minutes because if he driver's tardiness.
Bolt Bus was much cleaner and nicer 3 years ago. It appears their standards have lowered and it's no longer worth the ride.
