We have a fully operational Jewelry store, selling new and estate jewelry, offering 16 cases of fine jewelry and cabinets of fine pearls and beads, custom work, repair work, Rolex-certified watch repairman and more. We have a fully operational Pawn shop, buying, selling & loaning on the finest antiques, jewelry & more.We have a music and instrument room, and electronics area, a pro tool section and more. Finally, we are experts in antiques of all sorts, from art and furniture to jewelry. You can find our antiques scattered throughout our entire building, on the walls, and on our eBay and Etsy sites.

Our expert staff has over 100 years of combined experience, specialized licenses and Graduate Gemology Degrees. Our experts are here to serve the public, pass on treasures and preserve items of historic value. We want to meet you!

They advertise online that they take all jewelry, broken damaged old new, we take it all. You go in there and they have a million excuses as to why they won’t take things, total waste of your time
Great personalized service. My favorite place for things that sparkle. Sometimes I've picked out pieces, sometimes they have helped my husband pick an item. I have never been disappointed with what he brings me. Quality is great, they stand behind all of their jewelry. If my husband was to call today Buffy would know exactly what would make my heart throb! Speedy sizing and repairs also!
The staff has ALWAYS been super sweet and understanding! They've always given me top dollar when I'm there to sell them my jewelry ect! Even to the point of separating the gems/jewels from the gold/silver so I'd get more of the cash I'd be in serious need of! That's how awesome and honest they are! No one else would do that! I love them and would recommend them to any that ask about jewellers for sure!!
The service I received was top-notch. I was given full attention during my appointment. I later received the most beautiful engagement ring that my fiance purchased from Old World!! He also said the service provided by Trisha was great! Old World is the place to go in McHenry County for fine jewelry and service. Thanks.
Every time I'm in there I feel appreciated as a customer. So knowledgeable about everything. They tell u straight forward on their work. They recently fixed my wedding ring that I cherish a lot. Took it to a closer jewelry store to be fixed, wrong idea and they about ruined my ring. Old world was able to fix it and make it look brand new again! I cried and jumped for joy cuz I was so happy!
I was looking for a unique/vintage wedding band. My fiancé and I had looked at 6 other jewelry stores and couldn’t find anything close to what I wanted, and on top of that the sales people had all been overly pushy. Old World Gem & Jewelry was perfect, they had so many gorgeous options!! The woman that helped me was so patient and kind. We will definitely be back for all of our jewelry in the future!
I have dealt with Old World Gems for over 30 years and always satisfied with my service! They have been fair on buying any of my pieces and have made some beautiful pieces from rings to necklaces and bracelets! I truly recommend them to everyone !

Very honest offer for old gold jewelry. Happy with the appraisal and ease of transaction, this is my second sale to them and better price than others in the Crystal lake and McHenry area.
Got a custom made, simple 6 prong ring here years ago and it still looks awesome. Would recommend them and have to anyone. They are quite knowledgeable and we'll worth a visit.
