1. Coffee from the Roastery is amazing. Seriously. A star earned. 2. The one year program is a colossal joke. The residents are not monitored closely, so if you wish to bring in alcohol and/or other substances, go for it. Breathalyzer testing is administered at the same time every day allowing the residents to plan accordingly. Drug testing? Sure. If you get caught, no worries though. They keep you. It's all about the numbers. 3. Back to the outstanding coffee. You can grab yourself a cup at the Thrift Store. They brew it fresh with a $3000 coffee maker purchased by the Executive Head Tool with your donations. However, plumbing was not his forte...DHEC would have a field day should they ever look under that sink. 4. Let's cinnamon circle back to the one year program. They've had nine graduates. Nine. Nueve. Neuf. Neun. Nine is better than none, I suppose. Congrats to those nine. You've earned the second star.
I have great success with the people that work here it's good to see that there are still christians in the world and not just devil's.
Looking at the financials and the board of directors; your money can go farther elsewhere. Shameful is all i can say!
I've been to visit my son there on 3 different occasions in the last 6 months. This Christian facility is made-up of a wonderful & caring staff & residents. We are always welcomed with big smiles, handshakes, & hugs! Thank you, OLIVER GOSPEL MISSION, for all you do for the lost, broken, & in need.
I really don't see where the gospel mission does so much for the homeless or the community. All they do is at 4:30, they feed them, read a couple of bible versus and then kick them back out on the streets. They don't allow them to shower, wash their clothes or sleep. So how exactly are they truly helping?
They do excellent work helping the homeless, not just short-term, but long-term too.
Oliver Gospel Mission is great, they've been doing such a great service for such a long time. They go way beyond what is asked and they are some of the nicest people I've met. They are doing some great things and deserve to be recognized for their hard work. Keep it up! The world would be a terrible place without people like these.
On Sunday, May 30, 2021 I witness an accident of a moped and a car at this intersection. The SUV instructed the young female driver in the car to make a left turn into the parking lot area, BUT the driver of the SUV shouldn't have done this because there was an older male moped driver in the right lane next to me moving with the traffic. Of course, the car drove in front of moped and caused an accident and this man suffered injuries.
Feeding the homeless gets no better
