This is a fantastic camp run by talented people - our kids love it! They came home talking about all the interesting experiments and activities they did every day, and made so many creative projects they were able to bring home and share. They also really loved the yoga and the outdoors time they got each day. The whole environment seems so positive and organized. There were comprehensive, proactive safeguards against COVID-19 this year, and we had no concerns about safety at all. We are definitely planning to send both our kids again next summer! Highly recommend!
My daughter has attended this camp every week of the summer for the last two years. Before that, the same ladies were amazing in teaching her science class at The Young School. My daughter absolutely adores everything about the camp! The mindfulness and yoga exercises have improved her concentration. She has learned so much about science; we are always surprised to hear more about what she has discovered during the week. The counselors and counselors-in-training were very helpful in getting her what she needed, acknowledging outstanding accomplishments, and even supporting the resolution of any disciplinary issues. I often wish that I could ditch work and instead do the fun activities with the kids at camp.
This camp is great! They encourage campers to access the creative parts of their minds to invent and create projects during science. This combined with yoga allows the kids to be more mindful of their surroundings. Their weekly themes all tie together so well! On fridays, the kids get cotton candy and popcorn and watched a movie that related to what the kids learned during the week. I love that they are able to learn while having fun! I have never seen so many children so interested in yoga before this camp!
Seriously awesome camp! My son is going for his second summer and us stoked his little sister will join him this summer. Great themes each week, and the yoga really resonates with the kids at all ages. Awesome staff who soon feel like family, and reasonable hours with before and after care. Where else can you get the great combo of STEAM and mindfulness for kids??
My daughter attended Camp IO for multiple weeks this summer and LOVED it!! She felt welcomed, included, and safe. She loved the activities. The staff are very organized and engaged with the kids. It's a good mix of summer fun, learning, and down-time.
Our family loves Camp IO. The staff are so kind and take the time to greet you when you arrive or tell you about your little one's day. The drop off and pick up process made everything run smoothly. All week the kids went on and on about pizza and Kona Ice on Friday : I love the STEM focus! My kids were lucky enough to be at IO the week of the solar eclipse. They actually went to camp that morning upset that they would likely miss seeing the eclipse --- I had cautioned them that they might not have the glasses so it wouldn't be safe for them to view it. Sure enough upon pickup, they were over the moon excited that they were given glasses and able to see and learn all about it. We'll be back for sure!
My kids loved the camp. They were able to do creative, hands on activities that are not offered at other camps. The staff was great! My kids will definitely be attending the camp again.
We love Camp IO. Our kids are learning great calming techniques, making friends, and keeping their brains busy during the summer time. They can't wait to go back this summer to learn new poses and play Minecraft
If you like science and yoga, then Camp IO is the perfect camp for you! I'm a kid and I liked Camp IO a lot. First of all, the science experiments are crazy fun! You learn a lot in science. Also, in yoga, they tell you everything you need to know. If you don't do yoga because you don't like it, then if you take martial arts, then tell your parents you want to quit.Yoga and martial arts are almost the same thing, people! They have a strong connection that can't be destroyed. Also, at the beginning of the day, there is this thing called prize cart where if you do a good job in the previous day, then you get a prize! The examples of prizes include: Pokemon cards, ring lights, and stretchy hands. You can actually get more than two prizes if you do good enough! But they have pretty strict rules though, like no talking for the first ten minutes of lunch. You also have to go sit in the lobby and not talk if you do something that they tell you not to do. There was also one counselor that yelled at my brother for not knowing how to tie his shoes. He is still learning because he is six! If there was one thing I could change about the camp, it would be more free talking and less quiet time. I mean, it's the summer, and we're free of school, so we should have fun...which brings us to Fridays! The day of fun! We get free cotton candy, free pizza we get seconds, and Kona Ice for only two bucks per cup. From Mom: They came home safe and happy every day :-.
Their camps are too crowded and they end up resorting to movies more as filler.
