My husband enjoyed his stay while doing rehab. He couldn't walk when he arrived there. They had him up and walking his first week there!! The Physical Therapy department is amazing!! He got excellent care in a family setting. Thank you to the nurses and caregivers for the wonderful experience we had!!
I wouldn't even give this place one star but I have to, to share my experience there, my grandmother has been there 6 months plus in that time they do not answer her call light when she needs it they have lost her wheelchair they do not get her up for rehab at all, the food is horrible everyone gets a different portion like she got one small slice of watermelon and someone sitting next to her got 4. When she is able to use the phone she calls family to bring her food or come and help her because they are not. The phone is another Big issue there. When you want to speak with your loved one most of the time they cant find a cordless phone to take to your loved one. We were there just there the other day and employees were sitting down on their phones, doing puzzles and looking at personal photos on laptops, without answering call lights or going to people's rooms who were screaming for help, this is a picture of my grandmother's Room of dirty garments from her roommate laying on the floor for who knows how long they had sat there. I could go on forever but you get the idea now don't ever put a loved 1 in this facility
I haven't had many experiences with nursing homes until my father was placed in one. This place makes me feel like they really care about their residents and their families. The staff are very helpful and do all sorts of activities with the long term residents. I want to say thank you for treating everyone so good.
I have worked in a lot of skilled nursing facilities in the metro area. This is a small, family oriented place of business. Feels kinda small town which is something that sets it apart from all the rest. I covered a maternity leave a couple yrs ago there and have remained on call status. If they call me for help I rearrange my schedule to be able to go because the staff and residents are so loving and awesome. The "bad eggs" tend to weed themselves out there and don't last long. Negativity doesn't survive long there. Every place has its challenges, but ONRC does it's best to fix things when they go wrong. I've been a health care manager for 7 yrs. I recommend this place to my current clients for short term rehab & nursing care all the time.
I came to Omaha Nursing and Rehab as traveling nurse. Upon entering building it needs some updating but I can not tell you how impressed I was with the staff, family atmosphere and love and care the patients receive! No body wants to put their loved one in a nursing home due to all the bad vibes. The staff know their patients, go above and beyond. The call lights are answered quickly. The care is amazing! The rehab is top of the line. I recommend this place to everyone. They have several activities, patients are loved and they are all a big family. I have been with them for three weeks now and am truly amazed! I am excited for them and their future.
An amazing place to work at, I have worked here for 3 years with little to no complaints. Love my coworkers and residents! The environment of this facility is like family and home! There is always activities going on for our residents, residents are busy with crafts, bingo, live music, holiday parties, and many sociable activities. The therapy department bring animals in almost everyday, which contributes to pet therapy. They also offer physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
I’ve been working here for almost 7 years. I seen our building at it best and at it’s worse but one thing for sure it that my team are go getters we believe in one another and we also believe I providing the best care for our residents. I even had my aunt in the facility for rehab and our rehab department was amazing and helped my aunt get back on her feet for that I was forever grateful. Thanks to my powerful team. Team work makes the dream work. The activities leader is a blessing to us as well she goes above and beyond her job duties so thank you brandy for being Amazing!
My 78 yr old mother spent a week here to rehabilitate after a bowel blockage left her hospitalized for 3 weeks. She is pretty feisty and can be quite a handful. Shes definitely a test of your patience but the staff were very kind, loving and worked with her at her own pace. I recommend this place 100%
This facility is truly a gem in the skilled nursing world. The management has open ears and is very willing to communicate any problems or concerns you have. They are also willing to help on the floor when needed which is practically unheard of. They have worked with my school schedule and been extremely supportive of employees to continue education. EVERYONE HELPS. This means dietary, laundry, therapy, nursing, support, sanitation, etc. If someone is in need it doesn’t matter what area you work in, the residents are your family and they are treated as such. The food is fresh, hot, and options are given if you don’t like the meals of the day. Don’t even get me started on Brandy the activities director.. this woman is an angel. I have worked at other facilities and the activities are rare or if you don’t come out to participate then you don’t participate. Brandy is in the halls with music, games, prizes, and snacks throughout the day. She provides manicures to residents and spreads positivity like a ray of sunshine. The staff works short sometimes, but find me a facility that doesn’t. The workers at ONR do not sit there and complain they’re short. They come together as a team and give the best care they can. ONR has done extremely well with the COVID pandemic by having extra training and putting many precautions in place. People are not let in right now to protect our residents. This is hard not only on our residents, but their families as well. The staff has been working diligently to be sure families stay in contact with residents through FaceTime, phone calls, or visiting at windows. The therapists work hard with the residents and I have seen great progress. The therapists are caring and concerned and will call out anyone not doing their part. All in all, Omaha Nursing and Rehab puts the effort in. A skilled facility is a tough place to be as a worker or resident, but they do a great job to take care of your family as if they were there own.
I have been at this facility for a little over 2 years now, I have worked a few places in my time as a CNA and now as a Nurse, and one thing this place provides that outshines all the other facilities I have worked at is compassion and care. The residents become family- the management staff as well as floor staff go above and beyond for patients who come through the doors. I love the day to day family feel working here provides and I truly would not want to work anywhere else. ONRC truly is the "Hidden Gem" of Omaha
