On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina

Slow Thursday night, the music is good. Salsa and chips were tasty. Staff friendly and keeping busy. I have been here once before. The food here is just as my favorite Mexican restaurant at home.

Slow Monday when we went in... very pleased with the atmosphere and service. The food was delicious (dos equis fish taco was so good and the enchilada was tamale-like and delicious as well). Drinks were frosty and delicious, all for a reasonable price.

I hadn’t been to On the Border in at least a year so the wife and I decided to go for dinner. We were greeted at the door by the hostess then taken to our table. She told us our server would be with right with us. We decided what we wanted to drink and eat and still didn’t see the server. We waited for over 10 minutes then decided to leave. We watched as a few other servers walked around but never checked with us. In total we waited 15 minutes and left. The hostess said as we left Thank you and have a good night, I told we never saw our server and had only been there 15 minutes. The restaurant was not in least busy. Unsure what the problem is. Not sure if we will ever go back.

Consistently good food, good drinks and some servers who are a little better at service than others.

Very irritated that I called enroute to your restaurant and was misinformed about happy hour by the person who answered the phone. I ordered 2 margaritas with the understanding (based upon my call ro your restaurant) that I was in time for happy hour. Color me surprised when I got the bill and had to pay full price for the 1st margarita. I realize it's not much mine, but it's a matter of principle. Add to that the nasty seasoning on the beef of the taco salad and the horrific breath of the bartender (breath that could be smelled from 5 feet away) and this eliminated all hope of a tip. Seriously. WHAT THE HECK!?!
