Open Source Gallery

A great local gallery, that offers evening programming on Wednesday’s in the summer. They have local jazz bands come out and perform in an intimate outdoor setting. It’s free, but donations are welcome and it starts around 7pm.

Tiny yet powerful! What a little gem Brooklyn! I went to the closing of a show about the environment and it was very enlightening. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner of the gallery and learned about the impact she has on the neighborhood, introducing recycling of ordinary items into art, boats... SOAPCARS!! They have an annual race for the kids Everyone should stop by and check this place out, because it doesn't just start and stop at this location. This location is only the beginning. Come by and learn about all of the amazing activities they have their hands in. Very inspirational.

Impromptu Park Slope.

It is very small, and there aren't any cool hangout places nearby like lower East, but depending on the program, you would be able to see cutting edge, non commercialized arts here. Pretty cool to have in the residential neighborhood.
