We received fantastic customer service today. We were there 20 minutes prior to them closing and they were very friendly. There was a steady flow of customers, but we didn't have any wait time because they have two fill hoses. The price can not be beat for propane. We will stop in again when in Albuquerque.
Ortega’s only deliver to the mountains once a week, so it took them a while to come out. When the driver got to our driveway, he refused to deliver propane because the driveway wasn’t “completely dry,” and told us we had to be filling our tanks for the winter in August before the snow begins to fall. I offered to clear what little coating of snow was on the ground, but he refused, and I could hear on the phone that he had already driven away. We had just moved in and were out of propane, Ortega’s literally left us in the cold. Luckily, we were able to get another company out to fill us up the next day. If Ortega’s can’t deliver heating fuel in winter, they need to stay in Albuquerque and probably shouldn’t offer services to the East Mountains.
You're wasting your time and money trying to use Ortega's for propane outside of portable tanks. If you're in the East Mountains, DO NOT rely on Ortega's for service. They're refusing to go on any dirt road after any level of precipitation, leaving people cold who rely on propane for heat in the winter. They need to discontinue even the option of providing rural service if they're unable to provide it. Absolutely inexcusable.
I used to think i was getting a good deal until i started weighing my tanks. They always short me 1 gallon. Putting 26 pounds in a 30 pound tank. And 16 in a 20 pound tank. It will be wise to take a big tank here to fill up a gallon off in a 100 pound tank is not a big deal. But i have 3 tanks one 20 and 2 30 pounders. Thats 3 gallons of propane im paying for tha im not getting. Id rather pay more for the propane, have 3 full tanks and not have to waste gas going to fill up as often. The store employees where saying its my scale, but in other places my tanks weigh what they are supposed to. This is the only store where my scale seems to malfunction.
Besides all the hostile warning signs, locked gates and having to ring for service, it turned out that no none was around to provide propane. It was on a Saturday, which is apparently a dice throw on whether you can get it or not.
Very rude drivers! So unprofessional and un organized company! They don’t even give you a more or less time or day they would be out to deliver like people don’t have jobs to be at
Went to fill my tank, the guys outside treated me with respect and friendly, and the ladies at the counter welcomed me and very friendly, I would recommend Ortega's Propane to anybody and my family......Thank you for your service
I would give less than a star if possible. This company left us without propane for nearly 3 days in January because they claimed their phones didn’t work in the area & that an employee “didn’t show up” that day; So they decided to not come to our area. Weather was around 15 degrees that week. Luckily we switched to another company that actually puts digital monitors on the tanks & delivers promptly when they see the gas is low. Ortega’s would literally leave you out to die in the cold.
We got quick, friendly service at a reasonable price. Happy to support a family-owned business. We'll be back.
Lex saved the day! We didn't realize that we had a leak and totally ran out of propane. We called 5 people and nobody could come out or even get us an appointment anytime soon. He answered when I called the alternate#in the voicemail. He worked us into his day and showed up in a couple of hours! He was very friendly too! I absolutely recommend! 10 stars!
